    Obituary:
    Ewald Kuehne, one of the best-known wholesale meat dealers in this part of the state, was killed in the runaway Monday night, driving home at Appleton, his horses evidently having started to run as they turned at his gate. Mr. Kuehne was thrown against the fence. He was one of the Kuehne Bros. who controlled the livestock shipments in the county, doing an immense business.

    Biography:
    ROBERT KUEHNE, one of the largest shippers of horses, cattle, grain and commodities of all kinds in Outagamie county, Wisconsin, who is doing business throughout this section of the state, has for a long period been located in the city of Seymour. He is a native of Outagamie county, born February 3, 1866, at Greenville, son of Fred K. and Wilhelmina (Weise) Kuehne. Fred Kuehne was born February 23, 1826, in Prussia, Germany, where his father, Andrew Kuehne, was a farmer. The family, which consisted of the parents, six sons and four daughters, came to the United States from Hamburg on the vessel Hobart which landed after a voyage of forty-nine days at New York, in the spring of 1850. Mr. Kuehne went to Newark, New Jersey, where he obtained employment and continued two months, and he then went to Milwaukee, where he entered the service of the Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul Railroad, then in the course of construction. Later he obtained work at threshing with a flail for one dollar a week. He was married in 1851 to Wilhelmina Weise, a native of Germany, and settled on a rented farm six miles north of Milwaukee. Two years later he added six acres to the original tract of two, but after one year more he settled in Winnebago county, taking with him his wife and three children: Fred; Louisa, who married William Sperck; and Mary, who married Albert Tesch. Mr. Kuehne lived in Winnebago county for eighteen months and then came to Outagamie county, settling in Greenville, where he bought forty acres of land, which he afterward traded for eighty acres, but after several years sold this and went to Grand Chute township, where he purchased a tract of eighty-one acres, and for some years he added to his property and then sold off. Later he removed to near Appleton, where he commenced the slaughter and sale of cattle, in conjunction with farming, and in this line he soon built up a large trade. Four children were born to Mr. Kuehne and his wife in Outagamie county, namely: Mrs. Minnie Giebish; Hattie, Robert and Avalt. His first wife died in 1868, and he was married in the following year to Amelia Paulson, who died in 1891 without issue.
    Robert Kuehne secured his education in the public schools of Outagamie county, and when but fifteen years of age started out in life on his own account, his first work being in the butchering business, his next natural advancement being to the position of stock buyer. In 1893 he permanently located in Seymour, from whence he ships over 400 cars of stock and grain per year, and where he owns a fine farm. He also deals extensively in real estate, is the proprietor of a cold storage plant, vice-president of the Pulaski State Bank of Brown county and a director in the First National Bank and the Fidelity Loan and Trust Company, both of Seymour.
    Mr. Kuehne was married in 1899 to Ella Wagner, who was born October 23, 1878, in Germany, daughter of Henry and Augusta (Reto) Wagner; and to this union there have been born six children: Earl, Albert, Emma, Myra, Christina, who died aged two years; and Richard, who died when eight weeks old. Mr. Kuehne is a republican in his political views and served as chairman of the town board of Seymour for three years.

    Obituary:
    Jerome J. Sigl, 81, passed away Sunday, Nov. 18, 2007, at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Appleton. He was born in Appleton on Dec. 23, 1925, to William and Marie (Kuehne) Sigl. Jerry graduated from Shiocton High School class of 1944. In June of 1946, he enlisted in the Air Force was discharged in July of 1949. He married Erma Voeks Jan. 5, 1957, in Appleton, she passed away in November of 1972. In 1973, Jerry married Mary Wingrove-Lausman. They enjoyed 30 years together until Mary passed away in August of 2003. Jerry was a generous giving person, who would do anything for anyone. He loved his God, his country and his family and friends. Getting together with family and friends was one of Jerry's greatest enjoys. He enjoyed playing cards, and games, watching sports, reading, and seeing the country. To sit by John's fire pit during any given evening was a great pleasure to him, he had a very special relationship with his step-son, John and wife, Gretchen.
    Jerome is survived by three step-children, Tom (Babs) Lausman, Mackville; John (Gretchen) Lausman, Chillicothe, Ohio; Kathy (Terry) Hurley, Combined Locks; grandchildren, Jennifer (Patrick) Bruss, Chad (Jamie) Lausman, Allison (Patrick) Rusch, Joseph (Jodi) Hurley, Bryan Lausman, Willie Lausman, Mary Lausman; nine great-grandchildren; two brothers, Cyril (Yvonne) Sigl, Shiocton; Clement Sigl, Neenah; a sister; Gladys Wry, Seymour and a sister-in-law, Dorothy LaRue.
    He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Wilber and Norbert Sigl and a sister, Irene Schnabl.
    A memorial mass will be held at St Bernadette's Catholic church Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at 11 a.m. Visitation will be at the church from 10 a.m. until time of Service.
    The family would like to thank the ladies at Century Oaks for the care they gave to Jerry.
    Jerry never complained about the sadness in his life. He knew that his God was with him and would carry him through. He was a wonderful man.

    Gladys D. Wry, 87, of Black Creek, passed away early Friday morning, December 11, 2015 at Good Shepherd Nursing Home. She was born January 23, 1928 daughter of the late William and Marie (Klitzke) Sigl. On October 6, 1951, she was united in marriage to Lloyd Wry. He preceded her in death on April 17, 1987.
    Gladys was a cook at Black Creek Elementary School for many years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Black Creek where she was the head cook in the kitchen for various church events and was also involved as a CCD teacher. She also was a member of the Vicariate and St. Vincent DePaul. Gladys was a member of the Black Creek American Legion Auxillary.
    She is survived by her children: Barbara Wry, Council Grove, KS; William (Jodi) Wry, Black Creek; Brenda Wry (Dan) Wochinski, New London; grandson, Andrew (Amy) Wry, Black Creek; and 2 great-granddaughters: Adalyn and Amelia.
    Gladys is preceded in death by her 5 brothers: Clem, Jerome, Norbert, Wilbur, and Cyril; and a sister, Irene Schnabl.

    Cyril "Cy" Robert Sigl, age 78, of Shiocton, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, September 6, 2008, at New London Family Medical Center. Cy was born in the Town of Black Creek on November 4, 1929, son of the late William and Marie (Kuehne) Sigl. He worked at Olsen "C.W. Transport" as a truck driver for most of his life, and then at Curwood until his retirement. Cy loved going out to eat and playing solitaire. He was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Shiocton.
    He is survived by his wife Yvonne (La Marche) Sigl; his children: Randall W. Sigl, (special friend Carin Hellman); Sarah (Bruce) Stephani; their mother Ila Mae (Storma) Weyenberg; his grandchildren: Brock Sigl and Megan (Jared) (Stephani) Johnson; a brother, Clement "Clem" Sigl; and a sister, Gladys Wry; stepchildren: Cindy (Jean) Besaw; Kathy (Jim) Wilson; Mike (Cheryl) Beyer; Jeffrey (Susan) Beyer; David Beyer; and Steven (Carla) Beyer.     Jean F. Vanden Heuvel, 88, of Seymour passed away Thursday morning, May 7, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born June 16, 1926, daughter of the late Frank and Myra (Kuehne) Vanden Heuvel.
    She was a member of St. John's Catholic Church in Seymour. Jean worked in Appleton at the Conway Hotel and St. Elizabeth Hospital. For 14 years she worked at Valley Packaging Industries in Appleton. When she retired she came back to the family farm to live with Jerome.
    Jean enjoyed traveling with family and friends, loved parades, the Green Bay Packers, Seymour fair, basketball and putting puzzles together when watching the cooking channel. She loved to celebrate birthdays and when in doubt if there was anything we wanted to know Jean had the details about family events and dates.

    William (Bill) Marvin Vanden Heuvel, age 72, born February 11, 1935, in Seymour, WI, died November 23, 2007, in Gilbert, AZ, after a year long battle with MDS/Acute Leukemia. He graduated from Seymour High School in 1953 and joined the US Army where he served in Missouri and Germany. After attending the University of Wisconsin, he had a 30 year career with the USDA until his retirement in 1990.
    Bill married Doris (nee Krueger) on December 27, 1958. In 1992, Bill and Doris moved from the Chicago area to Gilbert, AZ, where he was active in the Knights of Columbus Third Degree Council 3121 and Fourth Degree Council 2536 in Chandler, AZ. Bill was a devoted family man who would say his greatest accomplishment was his close knit family. He enjoyed playing cards, especially Sheepshead, and often used his sense of humor to liven things up.
    He is survived by his wife, Doris; son Jayme (Lisa) Vanden Heuvel, Batavia, IL; daughter, Vicki (Tim) Davies, Miller Place, NY; daughter, Ann (Bob) Hattan, Downers Grove, IL; son, Paul (Diane) Vanden Heuvel, Edwardsville, IL; grandchildren: Billy and Rachel Vanden Heuvel, Aaron and Briana Davies, Anthony and Bradley Hattan, Sommer and Lauren Vanden Heuvel; three brothers: Bud (Audrey) Vanden Heuvel, Seymour, WI; Jerome Vanden Heuvel, Seymour, WI; Bob (Carolyn) Vanden Heuvel, Port Washington, WI; five sisters: Jean Vanden Heuvel, Seymour, WI; Nancy (Rich) Stephani, Sheboygan, WI; Kate (John) Avery, Albuquerque, NM; Joyce (Herb) Grulke, Green Bay, WI; Audrey (Tom) Zuleger, Denmark, WI; sister-in-law, Betty Raether, Phoenix, AZ; Aunt Mary Vanden Heuvel, Green Bay,WI ; Aunt Delores Kuehne, Seymour, WI; and Aunt and Uncle Joe and Margaret Vanden Heuvel, Seymour, WI as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Myra Vanden Heuvel, a brother, Earl, and brother -in-law, Elwood Raether.
    Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, November 29, at St. John's Catholic Church in Seymour, WI. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 on Wednesday, the 28th, with a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour. Visitation will continue from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the church. Burial will be in the Parish Cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at: www.boettcherfuneralhomes.com .     Obituary:
    Michael L Currie, 50, of Appleton, died Monday, October 17, 2016 at ThedaCare Regional Medical Center in Appleton. He was the first baby born in Appleton on January 1, 1966, son of the late Robert and Marge (Prahl) Currie. Michael married Faith "Anne" Hamilton in 1992. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2012.
    Michael was a self-employed body man who masterfully crafted and restored classics, new and old. He loved working on and driving his hot rods and motorcycles, and putting a smile on the face of everyone he spent time with. He touched the heart of everyone he knew, especially the friends that he lovingly considered his 'other' brothers and sisters.
    Michael is survived by his love, Jennie; his son Michael (Allison), daughters Megan (Ryan) and Mykayla; and grandchildren Izaya and Faith. He is further survived by his brother Jon (Cyndi) Porter, sisters Robin Miller and Kelly (Jan) Buck; and many nieces and nephews.
    The family extends special thanks to Ted Haley, Judge Krueger, and the people of Genesis house and the Mooring House for supporting and encouraging him in his efforts to free himself from his demons and embrace his true self.
    A memorial service for Michael will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, October 29th at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, with the Reverend Patrick Ryan officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 10 am until the time of the service.
    In lieu of flowers, a fund has been established on gofundme.com to help with Michael's final expenses.
