    Biography:
    HENRY SAGER, the owner of a fine farm of eighty acres located in Greenville township, Outagamie county, was born on his present property October 28, 1855, a son of Henry and Mary (Grote) Sager. Mr. Sager's parents, who were natives of Germany, came to the United States about 1853, settling near Milwaukee, where they resided for about two years, and then moving to Greenville township and buying this farm, Mr. Sager spending the rest of his life in its cultivation and dying in 1880, while his widow survived him unitl 1893. They had a family of eight children, of whom six are living, and Henry was the fifth in order of birth. He attended the district schools of Greenville township, and until he was married he worked for his parents. After that event he purchased the home place, and here he has since resided, being engaged in general farming and raising stock for his own use. He owns a fine large residence, substantial barn and good outbuildings, and has his property neatly graded and well fenced. In November, 1878, Mr. Sager was married to Miss Mary Kanock, who was born in Germany, October 12, 1864, daughter of Christ and Mary Kanock, who brought her to America when she was twelve years old and settled in Greenville township, where they became farmers and land owners. Both are now retired. To Mr. and Mrs. Sager there have been born ten children: Paulina, the wife of August Buchholtz, a resident of Appleton; Louis and Fred, who reside in Appleton and are employed in a creamery; Henry, who is employed in an Appleton paper mill; and Mamie, Johnnie, Otto and Walter, who reside at home; and two children who are deceased. Mr. Sager is a consistent member of the Lutheran church, and in political matters he is independent. He has never engaged actively in politics, having always preferred to give his full time and attention to his farm.

    Warren Sager, 515 W. Parkway Blvd., Age 75, passed away unexpectedly at 7:30 a.m. Tuesday. He was born Oct. 9, 1887, in Greenville, lived in the Town of Greenville most of his life, and lived in Appleton for the past 17 years. Mr. Sager is survived by his wife, Marie; one daughter, Mrs. Al Petrie, Rt. 2, Menasha; one son, Donald, Appleton; one brother, Harry, Appleton; six grandchildren.     Leah Koch, of Kaukauna, age 92, passed away early on Monday, March 3, 2008. She was born in Kaukauna on December 27, 1915, daughter of the late Albert and Anna (Ryser) Sager. On September 29, 1934, she married her high school sweetheart, Clarence "Bud" Koch; he preceded her in death in 1996. Leah enjoyed feeding the birds in her yard, spending time with her family and grandchildren and going out to eat.
    Leah is survived by three children: David (Barbara) Koch of Kaukauna, Paula (Dwayne) Beyer of Kaukauna, and Christy (Michael) Krueger of Sherwood; ten grandchildren: Brian Koch and his special friend Carla, Kelly (John) Swedberg, Craig (Karen) Koch, Daryl (Sue) Koch, Kim (Leo) Culloo, Robert Andrews Jr., Lisa (Richard) Ley, William (Michelle) Brandt, Kyle Krueger and his fiancee Bridget, and Cole Krueger and his special friend Alana; five step-grandchildren: Dwayne (Kristy) Beyer Jr., Deborah Beyer, Denise (Tony) Hardy, Danielle Beyer, and Kim Beyer; sixteen great-grandchildren, ten step-great-grandchildren, and one step-great-great-granddaughter. Leah is also survived by two brothers-in-law: Robert Koch of Menasha and Paul Koch of King, Wisconsin.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bud in 1996, a daughter Karen Andrews in 2000, a great-granddaughter Noel Brandt, and brothers and sisters: Art (Rachel) Sager, Albert (Amelia) Sager, Leonard (Irya) Sager, Edward (Esther) Sager, Buddy Sager, Ruth (Polly) Graeser, Lillian (Cal) Ericson, Edna (Ben) Diederich, and Esther (Ed) Kalupa; a brother-in-law Jerome (Pat) Koch; and a sister-in-law Mary Gossens.
    The Funeral Liturgy for Leah will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, March 6, 2008, at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH (St. Al's Site), 2401 Main Avenue in Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating. Interment will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. and again at the church on Thursday after 10:30 a.m.
    Leah will also be missed by her dear friends Helen Dix, Don and Donna Kott, and Paul and Mary Carnot. Paul and Jean Jansen were also dear friends and neighbors who "adopted" Leah - without their help she would not have been able to stay in her home until the age of 91.
    The family would also like to thank the wonderful caregivers at Brewster Village in Appleton. The nurses and CNAs were all so compassionate and caring. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

She was employed at Badger Tissue Mi ll from 1939 to 1945 when she married the love of her life, Lloyd Daul De c. 1, 1945; and on Dec. 1, 2005, they joyously celebrated 60 years togethe r. They made their home in Wrightstown for 40 years until their retiremen t, at which time they moved to Little Chute. During the past year Mr. a nd Mrs. Daul have resided at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. She was past preside nt of American Legion Auxiliary #436, Wrightstown and a member of ov er 50 years.     Milton H. Milt Sager, 92, passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born on August 12, 1918 in Greenville, WI; son of the late Fred J. and Alvina (Huebner) Sager. He was married to Sally Zietlow on June 14, 1941 in Appleton, WI. Milton was a farmer and then worked in the construction industry until the age of 87, retiring from McMahon and Associates. Sally and he enjoyed the seventeen years they lived on Chute Pond in Mountain, WI. He is survived by his wife, Sally Sager, Neenah; his children, Robert (Cheryl) Sager, Omro, Peggy (Jim) Gorges, Black Creek, Steven (Barbara) Sager, Menasha, Scott (Debbie) Sager, Black Creek, son-in-law, Jerome (Nancy) Diermeier, Little Chute, sister-in-law, Virginia Sager, Manawa; 17 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.     To my best friend and wife of 54 years, Shirley A. Anderson (Sager). I said Good Bye to you, along with family, on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Brewster Village in Appleton. We feel blessed that you were born on July 17, 1930 in Appleton. I admired and respected your parents; the late Walter E. and Frieda M. (Halverson), whom enriched your life. We remembered seeing each other in High School, but; it was not our time. You graduated from Appleton High School class of 1948. Much later, at a social event, our paths crossed, again. I knew the moment I saw you, "I think I am going to marry that girl!" Seven months later, I married the "Love of my Life" on July 2, 1960 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton.
    Shirley was employed at AT&T for 26 years. She was a life member of The Telephone Pioneers, a member of the Appleton Women Club and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed playing bridge, was a world traveler, a talented knitter, sewer, rosemaler, and cook. Shirley and Cy especially loved their annual trips to Walt Disney World (Disney South) and to a cottage on Little Long Lake (Disney North) in Wabeno. She currently was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Appleton.
    My dearest Shirley, you were a Breast Cancer survivor. You can still see your beautiful face on the Pink Lion outside St. Elizabeth's Hospital. However, you showed terrific courage and a smile on your face, as you lived your last 14 years with Diabetic Neuropathy and Alzheimer's.
    Shirley, you were very, very extraordinary. You felt blessed watching and caring for your grandchildren. Everyone who met you saw your smile, felt your love, and loved being with you. You will be missed by many wonderful friends and family members.
    She is survived by her husband Cyrus, children; Kristin (Mark) Gosz of Appleton and Thor (Juliana) Anderson of Coeur d' Alene, ID, by her grandchildren Laura and Aaron Gosz, her sister Carol (Richard) Schilling-Kimball, and by her sisters-in-law; Shirley (William) Connors of Wabeno, and Nancy Lehner of Mequon. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws Roy and Patsy Anderson, and her brothers-in-law; Phillip Anderson and Jack Schilling.
    Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM with a service to follow at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 2330 E. Calumet St. Appleton.

    Kaukauna - Childish curicsity may result in the loss of the entire right hand of Valoise Kalupa, 2-year-old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Kalupa. 100 East Seventh st. The child's. hand and fingers were badly mangled about 2:30 Monday afternoon when she put her fingers into a small opening in the guard casing of gear wheels which operate the dough mixer In the Kalupa bakery- The girl was rushed to St. Elizabeth Hospital where it was found necessary to amputate the fore finger and middle finger and the tips of her ring and little fingers. Doctors patched up the back of her hand in an attempt to save it and if signs of healing develop flesh from another part of the child's body will be grafted on. The wrist also was broken. The child put her hand into the gears while her mother was answering the telephone, leaving the baby alone in the room. Before Mrs. Kalupa
    could pull the switch to stop the machine, the hand had been horribly mangled. The big gear which engages with the smaller gear on the main shaft from motor was guarded with a heavy casing of iron, leaving only a narrow opening not more than 14 inches wide and perhaps slightly longer. When the child's fingers were caught in the mesh of the gears, however, her whole
    hand was drawn in. It was necessary to remove the casing and loosen the gears before the hand could be taken away.

    Eunice A. Biselx, age 91, went to be with Jesus on August 15, 2015. The former Eunice Kalupa was born on January 1, 1924. Eunice always said "When I die mourn for me and weep a little, but not too long. I had a wonderful husband, three loving children, lived to see grandchildren and great grandchildren, a very rewarding teaching career, traveled the world, had many friends, loved to garden, read and cook. What more can you ask of life?"
    Eunice is survived by her cherished husband of 72 years: Donald; her daughter Linda (Gerald) Haen; her two sons: Donald (Ann) Biselx and Daniel (Jan) Biselx; eight beautiful grandchildren: Luke (Yvonne) Haen, Jennifer (Kevin) Kloehn, Jason (Connie) Biselx, Karen (Ryan) Weyer, Molly Biselx, Christine Munson, Cathy (Marty) McGee and Mark Biselx and his special friend Emmy August. She is also survived by twelve precious great grandchildren: Rhyser Haen, Jackson Kloehn, Truman Kloehn, Madison Kloehn, Cassie Biselx, Sammie Biselx, Mason Weyer, Owen Weyer, Archer Munson, Sullivan Munson, Evelyn McGee, and Daniel McGee.
    Other survivors include her brothers: Mark (Bonita) Kalupa and Tom (Mary) Kalupa; two sisters-in-law: Mary Sauter and Dolores (Mark) Rohan; as well as many nieces, nephews and friends, and in particular her dear friend of 50 years, Lona Heublein, and her faithful hairdresser, Mary Sanderfoot. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Ed and Esther Kalupa, brothers Bud, Neil and Bob, sisters Germaine and Valoise, brothers-in-law Lester, Byron, Jerome and Francis, and sisters-in-law Janet, Joyce, Katie, Jane, Beatrice, Hilda, Florence, Dorothy and Helen.
    A celebration of Eunice's life will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, August 19, at St. Katharine Drexel (St. Mary's site), 119 West 7th Street, Kaukauna, with Fr. Jerry Pastors officiating.     Bob Kalupa, 81, Marquette, Wis., formerly of Port Washington and Kaukauna, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2007, at St. Paul Home. Bob was born in Kaukauna on Feb. 14, 1926, to the late Edmund and Esther (Sager) Kalupa. He served as a medic in the Navy during World War II and the Korean Conflict. Bob married Katie Kolerus in Kaukauna on June 25, 1949. She preceded him in death on Aug. 2, 2007, after 58 years of marriage. In addition to owning the Marquette Hotel for the past 19 years, Bob also was the former mayor of Marquette. He belonged to various VFW Posts, American Legions, Eagle Clubs, the NRA and Ducks Unlimited. He was an accomplished hunter and fisherman as well as a very talented wildlife artist. Bob loved his country, family and many, many friends.
    Bob is survived by his children, Lee Kalupa, Ocono-mowoc; and Sue (Jim) Knauer, Port Washington; a grandson, Andy Knauer, Milwaukee; sister and brothers, Eunice (Donald) Biselx, Mark (Bonita) and Tom (Mary) Kalupa; and sisters-in-law, Pat Obey and Scotti Kalupa. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

    Bruce R. Specht, age 65, passed way unexpectedly on August 25, 2015. He was born on January 23, 1950 to the late Robert and Valoise (Kalupa) Specht. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1968. Bruce served in the Army reserves from 1972 until 1984. He was a very hard and dedicated worker at Appleton Papers for 33 years.
    Bruce was known for a lot of things, but most of all was his appreciation of sports, especially baseball. He loved coaching kids and sharing the fundamentals of the game. He was known as a "prognosticator of baseball". Two of his proudest achievements were winning the boys state volleyball tournament and robbing Arley Pues of a home run. He stuck by the Packers through the down years, making sure not to miss a moment with his sister Pam. Bruce enjoyed taking walks, spending time with his family, and spending time doing yard work and gardening.
    He is survived by his sons: Brad (Jessica) Specht and their sons, Tyler, AJ, and Jacob; Scott and his son Jaxon; Colin (special friend Beth Bogenschutz); his former wife Sharon Specht; his sister Pam (David) Mason; his nephews Edmund (Jill) Mason and his son Jake; and Andrew Mason; and Bruce's special friend Diane Meulemans. He is preceded in death by his parents and his friend Mike Grogan.
    Funeral Services for Bruce will be held on Friday, August 28, 2015, at 4:00 p.m. at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL at ST. MARY CHURCH. A time of visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in his name. Boettcher Family Funeral Home, Kaukauna is assisting the family. -

    Kalupa, Edmund "Ed" Ed was embraced by his Lord and savior on Thursday October 1st 2015 after a very courageous battle with cancer. He ended his life as he lived it, spending time with the love of his life, Lori and his precious children, Ben and Amanda. Ed was born in Kaukauna on March 15th 1962. He graduated from Kaukauna High School in 1980 where he distinguished himself as a good student, leader, friend, and Lang Trophy recipient. Ed's strong faith and devotion to the lord was the foundation of his life. He was one of the chairman for the parish picnic at Saint Bernadette. He was also a member of Kiwanis Club. Ed graduated from St. Norbert College where he earned his degree in Communications with a concentration in business. Ed married Lori on April 28th 1989. He loved his job working as a Business Development Manager for Print Pro Inc where he continued working throughout his battle. Ed enjoyed fishing and hunting at his cabin with a treasure group of guys including his father and his son. Ed loved listening to his three favorite sounds of nature, the echo of a loon, geese flying overhead, and an elk bugling in the distance. These sounds will continue to be a part of his spirit in heaven and here on earth.
    Ed is survived by his wife of 26 years, Lori; two beloved children: Ben and Amanda; siblings: Tom (Chris), Connie (Michael), Kate (John); parents: Tom and Mary; mother-in-law: Joanne; Sisters-in-law: Debbie and Sara (Rick); and his faithful black lab Kendal. He was proceeded in death by his father-in-law, Ron.
    Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2015 at ST. BERNADETTE PARISH (2331 E. Lourdes Dr. Appleton) beginning at 1pm until the time of the mass at 5pm. Committal Holy Cross cemetery. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.
