    Gilbert F. Meyer, of Neenah, age 85, died Thursday, July 15, 2004, at Vallhaven Care Center. He was born July 2, 1919 in High Cliff, son of Theodore and Anna (Fiedler) Meyer. Gilbert married Florence Bengel, March 21, 1946, in Neenah and she preceded him in death August 31, 2001. He owned and operated a farm for over 46 years.
    He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church, Neenah. Gilbert was an U.S. veteran of World War II and received the Purple Heart and Silver Heart. He loved farming, working in the garden, ice fishing and playing sheepshead.
    Mr. Meyer is survived by his children: Robert (Sandra) Meyer, Neenah; Dennis Meyer, Green Bay and his special friend, Debbie and her son, Cody; Steve Meyer, Neenah and his special friend, Karen and her children: Bethany, Kendra, Jordan and Matthew; three grandchildren: Chad (Tania) Meyer; Ryan Meyer and his special friend, Becky; Jason Meyer and his special friend, Laura; two sisters- and two brothers-in-law: Evelyn (Clarence) Sturn, Menasha; Katherine Engelhardt, Sherwood; and Jack Arnoldussen, Little Chute.
    He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kenneth; two sisters: Lavina (Charles) Tomair and Caroline Arnoldussen; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Carl Engelhardt, John (Helen) Young and Alvin (Marilyn) Bengel.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 19, 2004, at Faith United Methodist Church, Neenah with Rev. Thomas Lambrecht officiating. Entombment will be in the Shrine of Heaven Mausoleum. Friends may call at the Kessler Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday and at the church from 10 a.m. Monday until the time of the service.
    The family wishes to express a special thank you to the staff at Vallhaven Care Center for the care & compassion they have given to Gilbert.

    Evelyn A. Sturn, age 87, Menasha, passed away at Theda Clark Medical Center on Wednesday, July 9, 2008. Evelyn was born June 28, 1921, in High Cliff, the daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Fiedler) Meyer. She married Clarence W. Sturn on October 27, 1945, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Menasha. He preceded her in death on November 16, 2007. She volunteered at the Menasha Senior Center as well as the City of Menasha Health Department. She was very happy spending her time at home as a homemaker; always having freshly baked goods around for her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling with her friends and bus trips with the Senior Center; bowling and spending time at the Menasha Senior Center. She was always ready for a game of Yahtzee with her children and grandchildren.
    Evelyn is survived by her children: Wayne (Nancy) Sturn, Appleton; Daniel (Jane) Sturn, Menasha; Paul (Barb) Sturn, Neenah; Nancy (Gary) Trader, Menasha; Tom Sturn, Neenah; Peter (Debbie) Sturn, Neenah; Richard Sturn, Menasha; special family friends Pam Mason and Sister Paulette; eighteen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; a brother-in-law: John Arnoldussen; a sister: Katherine Engelhardt and her special friend Dave; numerous nieces and nephews; other relatives and many friends - too numerous to mention.

    Katherine E. Engelhardt, 78, Sherwood, passed away on Saturday morning, Jan. 3, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Hospital following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. She was born on Aug. 11, 1930, in High Cliff, daughter of the late Theodore and Anna (Fiedler) Meyer. On Aug. 19, 1947, she was united in marriage to Carlton Engelhardt and together they celebrated 52 years of marriage.
    Katherine had been a cook and waitress for a number of area restaurants over the years. She was known for her baking skills which included pies, cakes and cookies. She enjoyed gardening, her flower gardens and bird watching, especially the cardinals. She had been active in the Ladies Auxiliary of Sherwood. More recently, she enjoyed traveling and taking special trips with her friend, Dave Sugden.
    Survivors include her very special friend, Dave Sugden, Stockbridge; her seven children, Carol Yokeum, Mountain; Terry (Margaret) Engelhardt, Appleton; Bonnie (Reed) Smith, Shiocton; Judy (Charles) Mader, Sherwood; John (Carla) Engelhardt, Sherwood; David (Nancy) Engelhardt, Kaukauna; and Jane (Todd) Frey, Appleton; grandchildren, Amy (Mark) Quandt, Anne (Nathan) Dahms, Aaron Yokeum, Michelle (Gilbert) Kruckeburg, Jason Engelhardt, Jesse (special friend, Tabitha) Smith, Howard (Sarah) Mader, Renae Luniak, Douglas (Cheryl) Mader, Conrad (Yvonne) Mader, Chris (Melisa) Engelhardt, Ryan (special friend, Sheena) Engelhardt, Andrea (Brian) Pauls, Kristin (special friend, Bob Voight) Engelhardt, step-grandchildren, Mike Damro and Natalie Damro, Jenny Frey and Jeremy Frey; 20 great-grandchildren; and a brother-in-law, John "Jack" Arnoldussen.

    Funeral services for Katherine will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2009, at Christ the King Lutheran Church, N7510 Hwy. 55 & 114, in Sherwood. The Rev. Bill Schroeder will officiate. Interment will be in High Cliff Cemetery. Friends may call at the Boettcher Family Funeral Home, 2401 Fieldcrest Drive, Kaukauna, 920-766-2099, on Monday from 4 to 7 p.m. and at the church on Tuesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Katherine's name is being established.

    James E. Sturn age 60, Menasha, passed away at his home on Wednesday, March 14, 2007. Jim was born June 6, 1946, in Neenah, the son of Clarence and Evelyn (Meyer) Sturn. He had been employed by the City of Menasha Public Works for about 34 years. Jim had been retired for almost 6 years. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He enjoyed going to the casino, he belonged to numerous card clubs, he enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada, Las Vegas, fishing and hunting, going up north to the cottage and he loved to joke around and harass the current city workers.
    Jim is survived by his parents, the love of his life Pam, his son Brian Sturn, his brothers and sister; Wayne (Nanc), Dan (Jane), Paul (Barb), Nancy (Gary) Trader, Tom, Pete (Deb), Ricky, many nieces and nephews, other relatives and numerous friends - too many to mention.     Wayne W. Sturn, 69, passed away at home Wednesday August 30, 2017. Born September 25, 1947 to the late Clarence and Evelyn (Meyer) Sturn. He grew up in Menasha and graduated MHS Class of '65.
    Wayne was employed by P.H. Glatfelter for 40 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing cards, shooting pool and gardening. He was proud of having coached youth baseball for Suburban Athletics (ages 9-18). He was a loving dad, a proud grandpa, and a good friend. No one was "off limits" for a smart comment especially doctors and nurses.
    Wayne is survived by his loving wife of 45 years Nancy; sons; Jason (Betty Leonard) Sturn, Kevin (Lisa) Sturn, his daughter; Carrie Sturn. Grandchildren: Spencer, Reagan and Nolan. Five brothers; Daniel (Jane) Sturn, Paul (Barb) Sturn, Tom Sturn, Peter (Deb) Sturn, Richard "Rick" Sturn and a sister; Nancy (Gary) Trader. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
    Wayne is preceded in death by his parents, big brother Jim Sturn, nephew Jonathan Trader and parents-in-law; Harold and Elsie (Gradl) Behnke.
    Memorial service for Wayne will be held at 6:00 PM on Friday, September 8, 2017 at VALLEY FUNERAL HOME, with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 4:00 PM until the 6:00 PM service.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
