    Schultz, Herman E. Waupaca, Wisconsin
    Age 72, formerly of Appleton, passed away Thursday, November 6th, 2003 at Riverside Medical Center. He was born in Appleton, Wisconsin on September 29, 1931, he was the son of the late Ernest and Katharina (Stiefler) Schultz.
    On June 26, 1956 he married Alice (Reinke) Schultz at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton. He was a member of St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community in Waupaca. Herman was a thoughtful and generous person. He would lend a helping hand to anyone who was in need. Herman was an excellent teacher to his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed giving rides to his grandchildren on the lawn tractor, doing word find puzzles, woodworking, and watching the Purple Martins arrive usually on April 15th. Christmas time was Herman's favorite time of year. He would play Santa in the Appleton area and he was well known to wear a special hat given to him each year by his family prior to cutting the family Christmas tree. Alice will now wear the hat and continue with this family tradition.
    He is survived by Wife: Alice Schultz, Waupaca; Daughters: Connie Van Asten, Waupaca; Cathy (Steve) Verhagen, Appleton; Julie (Dean) Zuleger, Appleton; Son: Tim (Mary) Schultz, Little Chute. Grandchildren: Nicole Verhagen; Ryan Schultz; Dan Verhagen; Jesse Schultz; Brandon Zuleger; Zachary Van Asten; Brady Zuleger; True Companion: Shotzie the dog. Special Sister & Brother in law: Jean & Richard Neubauer of Neenah, Brother in law: Jerry Reinke, Brother & Sister in law: Mike & Carol Bunnell, many nieces & nephews and Special Aunt: Loretta Dorn both of Appleton, Step Brothers: Cornelius (Shirley) Still of Darboy, Jerry Still of Appleton; Step Sister in law: Shirley Still of Appleton and other surviving Sisters and Brothers in law, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Sister: Gertrude Schultz, 3 Step Brothers and 1 Step Sister. Son in law: Rick Van Asten.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Community, Waupaca, Wisconsin at 11 a.m. on Monday, November 10th, with Reverend John Becker officiating. Visitation will be held Sunday 2-6 P.M. at Holly Funeral Home-Waupaca and on Monday from 10-11 P.M. at the church.

    Schultz, Jesse A.Jesse A. Schultz, age 16, of Little Chute, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, March 2, 2004. He was born December 28, 1987 in Appleton, son of Timothy and Mary (Van Asten) Schultz. Jesse was a sophomore at Little Chute High School and was a recent part-time employee of Hardware Hank in Little Chute, a job he very much enjoyed. He was a member of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute.Jesse was a one-of-a-kind young man who, just by his presence, made everyone around him a better person. His smile and laugh were ever present, particularly when he was engaged in some of his favorite past times. Jesse loved to go fishing and hunting with his father Tim and they enjoyed many happy hours in the woods and hunting cabin. Spending time on the boat fishing or water skiing with his family, including the family dog Molly, was an other of his favorite activities. An occasional round of golf with his father Tim and brother Ryan was something Jesse always looked forward to. With his mother Mary's help, he was also becoming an accomplished guitar player and formed a band with friends called A New Hope. Jesse is survived by his parents, Timothy and Mary Schultz, Little Chute; his brother, Ryan Schultz, Little Chute; his paternal grandmother, Alice Schultz, Waupaca; his maternal grandparents, Art and Bonnie Van Asten, Little Chute; his aunts and uncles: Connie Van Asten, Waupaca; Steve and Cathy (Schultz) Verhagen, Appleton; Dean and Julie (Schultz) Zuleger, Appleton; Jeff and Maria Van Asten, Shiocton; Mike and Lynn Van Asten, Kaukauna; his cousins: Zachary Van Asten, Brandon and Brady Zuleger, Nicole and Dan Verhagen, Curtis, Erin and Riley Van Asten, Chris and Jennifer Van Asten and Sarah Van Asten; many dear friends and classmates.He was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather, Herman Schultz; and his uncle, Rick Van Asten.Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Friday, March 5, 2004, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 410 Wallace Street, Combined Locks with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Interment will be in St. John Cemetery, Litt le Chute. Friends may call at the church from 1 to 5:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.The family wishes to express a special thank you to Little Chute High School and Appleton Medical Center for their efforts.Jesse, you will be truly missed. You were the love of our lives. Say hello to grandpa and uncle Rick. We love you, Mom, Dad and Ryan.
