    Irene Hockers, 78, Ashwaubenon, passed away Wednesday, July 21, 2010.
    She was born Jan. 1, 1932, to the late Stanley and Gertrude (Michalski) Charneski. On Nov. 6, 1954, she married John R. Hockers in Green Bay. Irene enjoyed spending time at her cottage in Door County and winters in Florida. Irene and her husband John owned Hockers Brick, which John was a 4th generation owner. Above all else Irene's greatest enjoyment was spending time with her family, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
    Irene is survived by her children, Linda (Russ) Vann, Michael (Mary) Hockers, Connie (Jess) Brault, Susan (Larry) Karner, Richard Hockers, Patrick (Jill) Hockers, Paul (Teri) Hockers, and Ray (Anita) Hockers. Further survived by 19 grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren; two sisters and a sister-in-law, Betty Kubiak, Darlene Charneski, and Janet (Gerry) Van Gheem. John's family also survives, Pat (Charlie) Denis, Janet (John) Stengel, Frank Carter, Rita Giese and Kathy Norgaard.
    She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, John R., on May 12, 2007; her brother, Dick Charneski and her sister-in-law, Donna Mae Carter and brother-in-law, Jerry Kubiak.
    Friends may call after 3 p.m. Friday at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 S. Oneida Street, in Ashwaubenon, until the Mass of Christian Burial at 6 p.m. with Fr. Benjamin Sember officiating. Burial will take place in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Please go to www.ryanfh.com to send online condolences to the family.
    In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund will be setup for the Diabetes foundation
    The family would like to thank Birch Creek for all their loving care shown to Irene. The RYAN FUNERAL HOME of De Pere is assisting the family.
