    Verhagen, Raymond A.; Brewst er VillageAge 84, passed away Sunday, May 5, 2002 at Brewster Village. Ray was bo rn in Freedom on October 24, 1917, son of the late Henry G. and Wilhelmi na (Weyers) Verhagen. In his younger years, he was employed at Thilmany Pu lp and Paper in Kaukauna.Ray is survived by three brothers: Rich (Monnie) Verhagen of Kaukauna, V es (Min) Verhagen of Kimberly, and Fr. Norbert Verhagen of Los Altos, Cali fornia; two sisters: Agatha Nussbaum of Kaukauna and Millie (Ervin) DeBru in of Kimberly; two sisters-in-law: Gladys Verhagen and Marge Verhagen, bo th of Kaukauna. Ray is further survived by many nieces and nephews. He w as preceded in death by his parents; by brothers Ed (Rose) Verhagen, Llo yd (Doris) Verhagen, Larry Verhagen, Ben Verhagen, Fr. Donald Verhagen, a nd an infant brother Francis; by sisters Ceil (Norb) Meulemans and Mart ha (Ignatius) Schuh; and by a brother-in-law Ray Nussbaum.The funeral liturgy for Ray will be held at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, May 8, 2 002 at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer Street in Kaukauna, with F r. Jack Mullarkey officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. F riends may call directly at the church on Wednesday from 4:00 PM until t he hour of the liturgy.Ray will be remembered as a hard-working, deeply religious, and prayerf ul man, and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to the entire sta ff at Brewster Village in Appleton for their wonderful care and compassio n.
