    See Image Mrs. Catherine O'Leary, 9 4, of 415 West Eighth Street, a charter member of the Appleton Apostulat e, died at 5:15 a.m. today after a long illness. Well-known for charitab le work, Mrs. O'Leary also was a member of the St. Mary Christian Mother S ociety, Catholic Order of Foresters and American Legion auxiliary. She w as born in the town of Grand chute, October 2nd, 1864, and lived in the Ap pleton area all of her life. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Frid ay at St. Mary Church with burial in the parish cemetery. Survivors inclu de one son, James V. O'Leary, Riverside Conn: two daughters, the Misses Ma ry and Margaret O'Leary, both of Appleton; one brother Edward Vaughn, Appl eton, nine grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

    James V. O'Leary, Sr., 88, retired president of Northwestern Nitro Chemic al Ltd., died of natural causes yesterday at Greenwich Hospital. A reside nt of Greenwich for 32 years, he lived on Bayside Terrace. He was al so a summer resident of Charlevoix, MI.Mr. O'Leary was born in Appleton, WI on Oct. 10, 1897. During WWI and WW II he served in the U.S. Army. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabe th Martha Messinger O'Leary. Surviving are a daughter, Elizabeth O'Lea ry Meany of Stamford; 3 sons, James V. Jr. of the home address, Micha el of North Clarendon, VT, and John F. of Greenwich; a sister, Margaret O' Leary of Appleton, and three grandchildren.A Mass of Christian Burial is scheduled for 10 a.m. tomorrow at St. Cather ine of Siena Church in Riverside. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemeter y. Friends may call at the Fred D. Knapp & Son funeral home, 267 Greenwi ch Avenue, from 7-9 p.m. today.     See Image Miss Mary O'Leary, 415 W. 8 th Ave., aged 82, died Monday morning, November 30th, 1981, at her home fo llowing a lengthy illness. She was born May 1st, 1899 in Appleton. She w as a graduate of Appleton High-school and at the University the Universi ty of Wisconsin Madison, where she received both her bachelor's and master 's degree. She taught in the area high-school and college's: Menasha high -school, Appleton high-school, Mary Grove College, Detroit, Michigan; Vil la Maria, Erie Pa.; and Michigan State University, East Lansing Michiga n. She was also a consumer consultant for the Borden Company, of Detroi t. She was a member of the St. Mary Catholic Church, the Outagamie Coun ty Historical Society, the local state and national home economics organiz ers, the friends of Elvehjem Museum of Art, Madison and a member of the AA RP. Survivors include a brother and sister-in-law James V. and Elizabe th O'Leary, Riverside Conn.; a sister Mrs. Margaret O'Leary, Appleton; nie ces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Cath erine O'Leary, a brother, John, and a sister-in-law Helen O'Leary. The f uneral will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at St. Mary Catholic Church, with t he Rev. Robert Schiavone and officiating. Internment will be in St. Ma ry to cemetery.

    See Image Margaret R. O'Leary age 91 pas sed away at her home Wednesday August 4, 1993. She was born November 27 th 1901 in Appleton the daughter of the late James and Catharine (Vaugh n) O'Leary. Margaret was an Appleton resident all of her life. She was a g raduate of Lawrence University and did postgraduate studies at the Univers ity of Wisconsin Madison and Colorado University. Margaret was a ninth gra de English teacher and a librarian at Roosevelt Junior High School in Appl eton for over 30 years retiring in 1964. She was a member of St. Mary's Ca tholic Church, Delta Gamma sorority and the Outagamie County Historical So ciety. Survivors include three nieces: Kathleen Fiewiger of Wheaton Illino is, Susan Ahern of Fond du Lac, Elizabeth Meany of Stamford Conn; four nep hews: James V. O'Leary of Riverside Conn., John F. O'Leary of Greenwich Co nn., John W. O'Leary Winter Springs Florida, Michael O'Leary; also grand n ieces and nephews. Besides her parents Margaret was preceded in dea th by a sister Mary O'Leary, two brothers and two sisters in law Jam es V. and Elizabeth O'Larry, John W. and Helen O'Leary, a nephew Thomas O' Leary, and a niece, Ellen O'Leary Kuehl. The mass of resurrection wi ll be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday August 6th at St. Mary Catholic Chur ch with Reverend Michael O'Rourke officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary 's cemetery.

Neenah, former city atto rney for 20 years, died at Theda Clark hospital at 4:29 Thursday afterno on following a short illness. He was born in Appleton on May 27, 1904, a nd attended St. Mary's parochial school at Appleton, Appleton high schoo l, Lawrence College, and graduated from law school at the University of Wi sconsin. Mr. O'Leary was Neenah city attorney from 1930 until his retireme nt in 1950, and has served as secretary and attorney for the Neenah-Menas ha Sewerage commision since it's founding in 1936. He is a past preside nt of the Winnebago County Bar association, a member of the American Bar a ssociation, the Bar Fraternity, Phi Delta Phi; the Wisconsin State Bar ass ociation and Delta Tau Delta, social fraternity. Mr. O'Leary also hel memb ership in the Neenah-Menasha Elks club, the Knights of Colunbus, St. Patri ck's church, the Holy Name Society of the church, and was chairman of t he grievence committee of the State Bar association and a director of t he First National Bank of Neenah.Survivors are his widow; his mother, Mrs. J.D.     Ahern, Susan O'Leary
    After a courageous battle with cancer, Susan entered into eternal life on Thursday, August 29, 2013 at the age of 76 at her home with her family by her side. She was a resident of Fond du Lac WI, and Naples Fl.
    She is survived by her beloved husband John of 51 years, loving mother of John E. III "Tripp" (Colleen) Ahern of Fond du Lac, Brigid (Rob Waeldner) of Yarmouth ME, Timothy (Rose) Ahern of Fond du Lac, Tony (Linda) Ahern of Fond du Lac, Maggie (Brian Murphy) of Charlotte NC, and 16 Grandchildren that she dearly cherished. She is further survived by her sister Kathleen Fieweger of Naples, FL and her brother John O'Leary of Winter Springs, FL. She was preceded in death by her parents John and Helen O'Leary as well as her sister Ellen Kuehl and brother Tom O'Leary.
    Susan was born in Neenah, WI on November 25, 1936 the daughter of John and Helen Walter O'Leary. She attended St. Patrick grade school and Neenah High School.
    She attended UW-Madison for 2 years and graduated from Marquette University in 1959 with a degree in Dental Hygiene. She Married John E. Ahern on June 9, 1962.
    Susan has been a long time member of Holy Family Parish in Fond du Lac and a former president of Charity Club and Service League in Fond du Lac. She was also a member of St. John The Evangelist Parish in Naples, FL and former president of the Woman's Club at the Pelican Isle Yacht Club in Naples, Fl.
    Susan will long be remembered for her total and unwavering commitment to her family and in particular her 16 Grandchildren. In addition, her Irish wit and general love of life along with her many dear friends are her true legacies. For the past 20 years she has spent her time between Fond du Lac WI and Naples, FL.
    Visitation will be held at Zacherl Funeral Home, 875 E. Division St. Fond du Lac, from 3:00 to 7:00 PM on Tuesday, September 3, 2013. Visitation will also be held on Wednesday September 4, 2013 from 9:00 to 10:45 AM at Holy Family Parish Church, 271 Fourth Street Way, Fond du Lac.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Parish Church at 11:00 AM on Wednesday. Interment will be private for the family.
    In loving memory of Susan, in lieu of flowers, memorials in her name are appreciated to St. Mary's Springs Academy Second Century Building Campaign, 255 Hwy K, Fond du Lac WI 54937.
    Susan's family would like to thank Hospice, Agnesian Healthcare, Above and Beyond Care, and Doctors Fownes and Jones for all their special care and attention during this difficult time.
