Jerome J. Verhagen, Waupac a; Age 71, died on Wednesday, September 23rd, 1998 at his residence in Wau paca. He was born on May 26th, 1927 in Kaukauna, a son of the late Lou is and Katherene (Bergman) Verhagen. He married Catherine Gray on June 11t h, 1968 in Guam. She preceded him in death on July 17th, 1986. Survivo rs include a stepson, Roy Luellen, Waupaca; two grandchildren: a great gra ndchild; two brothers: Ervin Verhagen and Eugene (Rita) Verhagen, both fr om Kaukauna; two sisters: Johanna Fink, Algoma; RoseMary Kramer, Little Ch ute; and very close friends, Bob and Kathy Barman, Lodi, Wisconsin, and t heir daughters Jenny and Sarah; and numerous nieces and nephews. He al so had many close friends while working with the Tip-Top Carnival show. J erry had also made many good friends in association with the Kristy B Ba nd in the Madison area. He's preceded in death by his wife, Katheren; h is parents; two sisters Lucina Verhagen and Regina Swanningson; and two br others, Stephen and Melvin Verhagen. Jerry had served in the U. S Navy f or 21 years, and had served during World War II., the Korean War, and of t he Vietnam war. He had worked with the Tip-Top Carnival show for abo ut 10 years. Jerry was also proud to have spoken to many groups through h is association with Alcoholics Anonymous. Funeral services will be he ld at the Holly Funeral home in Waupaca on Sunday, September 27th, 19 98 at 2:00 p.m. with Father Paul Vandenhogen officiating. Internment wi ll be in the St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Cemetery in Waupaca. Friends m ay call at the Holly Funeral home in Waupaca on Sunday, one hour pri or to the time of the funeral. The Holly funeral home of Waupaca is assis ting the family with arrangements.
