    BEAR CREEK Youth Killed In 1-Car Crash
    Albert Affeldt Dies When Auto Slams Into Bridge Railing
    A Bear Creek youth who died early Sunday was one of 14 persons killed on Wisconsin highways over the weekend. Albert E. Affeldt, 19. died at New London Community Hospital about 12:15 am Sunday,nearly two hours after the car in which he was a passenger, slammed into a bridge railing on State 76 near Outagamie County Trunk W, eight miles southeast of Bear Creek. Coroner Bernard H. Kemps said Affeldt died of severe head injuries. Three other young people were hospitalized as a result of thecrash. They were Thomas McGinty, 22, Bear Creek, driver of the car, suffered face cuts and a fractured left ankle; his brother, Leo, 20, also of Bear Creek, and Darrell DM Zitzke, 21, route 1, Bear Creek, who suffered a fractured nose and minor cuts to the forehead and legs. Zitzke was released from the hospital Leo McGinty remains in New London Community Hospital and Thomas McGinty is in satisfactory condition at Theda Clark Memorial Hospital, Neenah. Left Road Outagamie County police said the McGinty car was southbound on State 76 when it left the roadway on the south side, on a curve. The car traveled 691 feet, crossed the roadway and struck a bridge railing on the north side of the highway. The 1966 auto was demolished. Authorities said Affeldt was riding in the front seat of the auto. Affeldt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alton Affeldt, was a 1968 graduate of Bear Creek High School. He was a student at Fox Valley Institute, Appleton, and worked part-time at Neenah Foundry. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at United Methodist Church, Clintonville. Burial will be in Danish Cemetery, Bear Creek. Friends may call at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London, after 2 p.m. today.
