    Obituary:
    Mary Margaret Schmit, 87, of Seymour, passed away Sunday morning, January 17, 2016 at St. Mary's Hospital. She was born May 2, 1928, daughter of the late Michael and Margaret (Jaeckels) Buchinger. On October 14, 1948, she was united in marriage to Bernard "Bud" Schmit. He preceded her in death December 19, 2011.
    Mary farmed with her husband on the Schmit homestead. She was a member of St. Sebastian's Catholic Church, Isaar and the Christian Mothers of the church. She enjoyed hunting, fishing, berry picking, gardening, cooking, baking and bird watching. Mary loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
    Survivors include her children: Mike (Karen) Schmit and their children: Cheri, Jackie (Travis); Frances Rudnick and her children: Benjamin (Ronda), Philip, Jessica, Jeremiah (special friend Stephanie), Joshua (Chelsea) and Rebecca (Pat); Marie (Bruce) Raymakers and their children: Doug (Jeanna), Ken (Amber), Debbie (Andy) and Greg (Pamela); Margie (Roy) Muck and their children: Amanda (Brandon), Jason (fiancée Emily), Jennifer (Dylan) and Kristine; 27 great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine Seagers; sisters-in-law, Dorothy Buchinger and Jean Buchinger.
    Mary is preceded in death by two grandchildren: Keith and Jill; and Mary's siblings: John, Mike, Ed, Leo, Paul, Mark, Richard, Carl, Barbara, and baby Antonette.
    Friends may call at St. Sebastian Catholic Church, Isaar on Thursday, January 21, 2016 from 9:30 a.m. until the funeral mass at 11 a.m. with Fr. Brian Belongia and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher.com

    Obituary:
    Seymour - Michael H. Schmit, 68, of Seymour passed away on Wednesday morning, April 11, 2018, at his home surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born October 21, 1949, son of the late Bernard "Bud" and Mary (Buchinger) Schmit.
    He was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, Seymour.
    On April 24, 1981 he was united in marriage to Karen Schaumberg.
    Mike attended a one room grade school called Plainview Elementary School and was a 1967 graduate of Seymour High School. He worked on the family farm in Isaar with his parents and family prior to being at Fort Howard Paper Mill. Mike was fortunate to retire from Fort Howard after over 30 years of service. His daily retirement routine was going to his morning workout.
    He then started his next full-time job, which was being an avid deer and small game hunter and fishing, Lake Winnebago was his second home. Mike was a true outdoorsman and enjoyed every opportunity to be out in nature with his family and friends.
    Family was the most important part of Mike's life. His grandchildren always brought a twinkle to his eye.
    Surviving is his wife, Karen; daughters, Cheri (Bart) Ledvina, Jackie (Travis) Raduenz; four grandchildren: Ava and Kendyl Kuranda, Wyatt and Trevor Raduenz; siblings: Frances Rudnick, Marie (Bruce) Raymakers, Margie (Roy) Muck; mother in-law, Gladys Schaumberg; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Grace Ann (Bob) Daoust, Gary (Becky) Schaumberg, Scott (Sarah) Schaumberg, Sue Schaumberg; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
    In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a father-in-law, Gerald Schaumberg; brothers-in-law: Bruce, Douglas and Greg Schaumberg.
    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Sunday, April 15, 2018 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm with a parish prayer service at 7:30 pm. Visitation will continue at St. John Catholic Church, Seymour on Monday, April 16, 2018 from 9:00 am until the funeral mass at 11:00 am with Fr. Bob Kabat and Deacon Rich Matuszak officiating. Burial will take place in St. Sebastian Catholic Cemetery, Isaar.
