    Anita A. "Tootie" (Forbeck) Thyssen, 92, Town of Center, passed away at home surrounded by her loving family on Thursday, October 20, 2011. She was born in Appleton, on December 11, 1918, the daughter of the late Emil and Amanda (Wendt) Forbeck. On April 19, 1941, she married Raymond Thyssen. Tootie was proud to raise their children on the family farm in the Town of Center. She was known for her love of bowling, knitting and needlework.
    Tootie is survived by her children, Judy (Jim) Deimer, Hortonville; and Tom (Jean) Thyssen, Town of Center; grandchildren, Tim (Renee) Deimer, Kris (Irenee) Philippe, Rick Deimer, Steve (Jen), Mike (Lisa Van Able), Sherry (Tom Biese) and Joe (Lori) Thyssen; 17 great-grandchildren; and her sister, Janet (Don) Bousley.
    She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Ray; granddaughter, Kari Deimer; great-grandson, Ashton Ray Philippe; sister, Mary (Paul) Schmitz; brother, Ken (Jane) Forbeck; and numerous brothers and sisters-in-law.
    The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, at the Wichmann Funeral Home with Deacon Jeff Hofacker officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park.
    The family extends a special thank you to the staff of Appleton Medical Center and the nurses of ThedaCare at Home Hospice for their extraordinary care. Wichmann Funeral Home

    Obituary:
    Karin A. Deimer, 31, of Greenville, met the Angels on Sunday, December 12, 2010. She was born on February 11, 1979, in Appleton, the daughter of James and Judith (Thyssen) Deimer. Kari graduated from St. Mary's Grade School, Hortonville High School Class of 1997 and UW-Oshkosh in 2004. Kari served in the Army National Guard for the past thirteen years and was commissioned as an Officer on January 7, 2004. On April 1, 2008, she was promoted to Captain. Kari was the Company Commander for Headquarters and Headquarters Company (HHC) 132nd Brigade Support Battalion. She served a tour of duty for Hurricane Katrina and Operation Iraqi Freedom. Kari was employed as a Design Specialist with the Marketing Team at Community First Credit Union.
    Kari is survived by her parents: Jim and Judy Deimer, Hortonville; sister: Kris (Irenee) Philippe, Hortonville; brothers: Tim (Renee) Deimer, Greenville and Rick Deimer, Greenville; niece: Danielle Deimer; nephews: Dustin Deimer, Irenee Philippe and Brendan Philippe and grandmother: Anita Thyssen, Appleton. She is further survived by her uncle, aunts, cousins, other relatives and many friends.
    Kari was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Hilda Deimer; step-grandmother, Marcella Deimer and grandfather, Ray Thyssen; nephew, Ashton Ray Philippe and uncle, George Paltzer.
    The funeral liturgy for Karin will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, December 16, 2010, at ST. MARY CATHOLIC CHURCH, N2385 Municipal Drive, Greenville. Father Justin Werner will be officiating. Burial will take place in the parish cemetery. A time of visitation and support will be held on Wednesday evening at the Wichmann Funeral Home from 3 p.m. until 8 p.m. and again at the church on Thursday from 8 a.m. until the time of mass. A memorial fund is being established in Kari's name.
    Kari's family would like to thank Dr. Aayman Saad and the Hematology and Oncology Units at Milwaukee VA Medical Center, Dr. Kevin Mortara, Dr. John Swanson and the nursing staff at Martha Siekman Cancer Center; the nursing staff at Appleton Medical Center and ThedaCare at Home Hospice for the excellent care and compassion shown to Kari and our family during this difficult time.
