    Obituary:
Culligan, Emma E. 1924-2013 Whether you knew her as Bette, or knew her as Emma, you were fortunate to be a friend of this kind and gentle woman. In the wee hours of August 31st, she left this world with an escort of angels, for a better place, to the Heaven she awaited. She is now free of pain and sorrow, and united with her husband Bob who she has missed since 1987, and her two sons, Brad who she lost in 2010, and Bill in 2011.
She was the last surviving member of her immediate family, preceded in death by her parents William and Mary DeLeest, her sister Ginny Monday, and brothers Bud and Willis DeLeest.
So much has happened in less than two months. It is hard to comprehend. We the following are left with great memories but also great sorrow.
Sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Judy Culligan, Bruce Culligan, Michele Culligan. Grandchildren and their families, Chelsea and Paul Graham (Milo and Sonny), Sasha and Richard Milton (Sammy and Chase) Jeremy and Pa Houa Vetter (Andrew and Max), Kalyn Culligan, special friend Andre Bussiere, and Bailey Culligan, special friend Ian Hanson. Bette asked that we also include long time girlfriends Pat Worden and Dorie Moericke as part of our family as well.
The funeral service will be held 3:00PM Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Valley Funeral Home with Rev. James Leary, OFM Cap officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Appleton. Bette's family will receive relatives and friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital or a charity of one's choice .
A special thanks goes out to all the staff at Fox River Nursing & Rehab Center. Everyone there, every day, every shift, treated Emma and all of her family with care, kindness, and friendly smiles.
Also a very special thank you goes out to Dr. Elizabeth Menzel. Emma loved her, as a doctor and a friend. Now we know why. Dr. Menzel did so much, and cared so very much for Emma. Her compassion and presence, when we needed her most, went above and beyond our expectations. We are truly grateful.

James H. Milheiser, Jr., 86, of the town of Menasha, passed away Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, at his home.
Jim was born June 25, 1925, in Appleton, the son of James Sr. and Anna (Smolinski) Milheiser. He was a veteran of World War II, serving in the United States Army in the Pacific Theatre. Following his return home from duty, Jim was united in marriage to Dorothy Leverance on July 6, 1946, in Menasha. Prior to his retirement, Jim was an electrician with Neenah Foundry for many years.
Jim cherished vacationing with his family at Lake Noquebay near Crivitz. He took great pride in being able to spend those quality weeks up north every year where he enjoyed fishing and boating. Jim and Dorothy enjoyed working on crafts together throughout retirement. As Jim reflected back on his life and reminisced, he always ended stories with "we always had fun."

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Orville and Gordon; and two sisters, Ann and Florence.
A private family memorial service for Jim will be held at a later time. Inurnment will be in Highland Memorial Park.
The family would like to extend many heartfelt thanks to everyone with Affinity Hospice and the VNA. You were all fantastic. The care and compassion they showed Jim and our family during this difficult time allowed Jim to stay at home. Your support in person or by phone was comforting and deeply appreciated.

    Obituary:
Appleton - Just past midnight on July 24th, our family man and friend said goodbye to this world. Goodbye to the pain and illness that had taken over his body. As his heart stopped beating, ours collectively shattered. As our grief goes on, we will suffer through his absence. When the fog clears we will take comfort in knowing that he is no longer suffering. He worked hard the last four and a half years to be with us, to enjoy life, and to watch his beloved grandsons, Milo and Sonny Graham grow into kind and talented young men.
So so many people will miss this man. I just don't know of a more likable, kind hearted soul. He became friends with everyone he met without bias or question, and stood as a good example for his family. He found the good in people and enjoyed their company.
We that carry on, are his daughter Chelsea Culligan Graham and her husband Paul Graham; myself Judy, his wife; Bob's brother Bruce Culligan and his family; sisters-in-law Kathy Sheldon, Mary Coyle, M. Culligan and their families. His parents Robert and Bette Culligan, and brothers Bill and Brad have all preceded him in death.
Bob and I have been blessed with the best neighbors that anyone could ever ask for. They've been here with us to share lots of fun and help us through the tough times. They are truly thought of as family.
We will all picture Cully, or Bob, in a way that shows him healthy and happy, whether he's playing golf or watching the Packers kickin' butt. I see him happily walking down a trail, with the sun at his back and his dog Bogey by his side.
It was most important to Bob that he remain at home. It was due to the staff and services of Hospice that it was possible. Everyone that we dealt with was so caring and helpful. Thank you to all of you.
We will celebrate Bob's life at a gathering on August 5th, from 1-3PM, at The Draw at 800 S. Lawe Street in Appleton. To sign the guest book, please visit oconnellfh.com.
Uno Dos Tres Papa. We love you.
