    Obituary:
    Donald J. Minten, 82, Town of Lawrence, died Tuesday August 5, 2014, peacefully at home in the presence of family, after a short illness. He was born August 22, 1931 to
    George and Margaret Minten. Don joined the Army in October of 1954, and was honorably discharged in October of 1956. He was a member of the Wrightstown Legion Post 436.
    Don married Jean Kafka of Denmark on July 20, 1957. They spent the next 57 years living in the Town of Lawrence, operating a dairy farm, and raising their family.
    Don served as Town Supervisor for 21 years, and was a volunteer fire fighter for 16 yrs.
    Don enjoyed dancing, visiting with his friends and family, sharing stories, laughing, and relaxing at home. He was also known for smoking his pipe, and, if things didn't go his way, there would surely be two smoke stacks coming from his tractor. He was a hardworking man who was dedicated to his family and will truly be missed.
    Don is survived by his wife Jean (Kafka) Minten, sons Daniel Minten (Friend Debra
    Brace), Town of Lawrence, Dale (Robbi) Minten, De Pere, and Kurt Minten, Town of
    Lawrence, daughters Lori (Jim) Verheyden, Bellevue, Kristine Minten, Houston Texas,
    Tammy (Lane) Petras, De Pere, and Tricia (Robert) Huguet, Ashwaubenon grandchildren: Matthew (Hazel) Minten, Sharon (Cody) Rivenes; Samantha Petras; Jake, Adam and Megan Huguet. He is also survived by his brother Dave (Jo Ann)
    Minten, Town of Lawrence, and his wife's extended family; Mary Mincheski, Bonnie
    Gauthier, Laureen (Richard) Kolarik, Larry (Donna) Kafka, of Denmark. As well as many nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his parents George and Margaret Minten, and a daughter, Lois (Louey) Minten, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Henry and Thelma Kafka; and brothers-in-law Denis Kafka and Richard Mincheski.
    Friends may call at the RYAN FUNERAL HOME 305 N. Tenth Street in De Pere from 3 - 8pm on Friday, August 8, 2014. Visitation will continue after 8:30am Saturday at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish Family, corner of Lourdes Ave. and Suburban Drive in De Pere. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am with Fr. Tim Shillcox O.Praem officiating. Military Rites will follow the Mass.     Don's family would like to thank the nurses and doctors of St. Vincent Hospital's 4th

    floor IMCU, and 7th floor, for the wonderful care he received during his illness.

    In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been established.
