    Obituary:
    DeLong, Donald Victor, Appleton - Age 73, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, on September 30, 2002. He was born August 3, 1929, in Appleton, Wisconsin, to the late Victor and Irene (Schultz) DeLong. He graduated from Appleton High School in 1947. After graduating High School, Don played Class D professional baseball in the old Kitty League, and then joined the Army in 1951. On July 17, 1954, he was united in marriage to Marilyn Hartzheim. Don was a member of the American Legion Post 38 and the VFW. Don worked for many years at the former Kimberly Clark Paper Mill (n.k.a. Stora Enso) in Kimberly, Wisconsin. After retiring in 1991, Don went to work at the Outagamie County Airport. His last position as Security Screener was one that brought him great joy. He enjoyed being around all the people.
    Don is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and his daughters: Vicki (Joel) Ponedel, Lynn (Jeff) Graves, and Traci (Corey) Braun; his five grandchildren: Joey Ponedel, Nicole Ponedel, Paula Graves, Syndee Braun and Jensen Braun; and his beloved and faithful dog, Sami. Also, his sister-in-law Lois Bayer, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law Wayne and Marilyn Hartzheim.
    The Funeral Service will be held at 10:30 a.m., on Thursday, October 3, 2002 at ST. JOSEPH CATHOLIC CHURCH, 410 West Lawrence Street, Appleton, with Rev. John Holly, OFM Cap. officiating. The inurnment will be held at Riverside Cemetery, Appleton. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Wednesday, October, 2 from 4 until 7 p.m.
    The family of Don would like to thank Janet Warner for being such a caring neighbor, and wish to extend a special thanks to Debbie, Nancy and Lisa from ThedaCare Hospice. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.Goodbye, Sunshine. - MarilynDad, thanks for the laughs and Jeff finally caught on to football! - LynnDad, I hope they have cable for you in paradise so you won't miss a Cubs game or ESPN SportsCenter.
