    Obituary:
June Mary Bongers, 92, passed away peacefully on Sept. 24, 2014.
Born June Mary Robinson, June 11, 1922, in Green Bay, Wis., daughter of Allen Robinson and Grace Blindauer Robinson.
June graduated from East High School in Green Bay, and the University of Wisconsin Madison School of Journalism. After college June took a bus to NYC and found her first job with the "Post". She lived in Geneva, Switzerland and worked for the United Nations and attended Centre D'etudes Industrial to study languages. After living in Guyana, South America, with her first husband she returned to NYC, with her infant son, Howard and worked in advertising as a copywriter. Later she worked in Milwaukee for Klau-van Pietersom Dunlap. June married Donald J. Bongers on July 12, 1958, a merchant marine captain. They had four sons while residing in Green Bay, Wis.
June taught us to love life. She loved painting and over the years she created a collection of paintings that will be cherished for many years to come. In addition to painting June loved practicing yoga, even in her 80s she could be found standing on her head! Some other passions she had were reading, playing piano, gardening, traveling, antiques, thrift shopping and moving periodically. June was always proud of her education and was a lifelong member of American Association of University Woman (AAUW). She was an inspiration for many people and showed by example how to embrace and enjoy life no matter what it throws at you.
June is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years Donald Joseph Bongers of Green Bay, Wis., deceased Dec. 8,2005, and her first husband Howard Major Jr. of Palm Beach, Fla., deceased August 2014. June is survived by her five sons, Reverend Howard B. Major III, Brooklyn, N.Y.; Jacob Bongers (Wen), Princeton, N.J.; Allen Bongers (Sherrill), Jacksonville, Fla.; Karl Bongers (Mary), Minneapolis, Minn.; Ralph Bongers, St. Paul, Minn.; grandchildren, Helen (Jay), Pennsylvania; Kelly, Alex (Allen), Jacksonville; Cory, Kayla, Austin (Karl), Minneapolis; siblings, Maurice Robinson, deceased (June Robinson), Joyce Miller (Jerry, deceased), Grace Bouschart (Ken), Tom Robinson (Peach), and Dan Robinson (Cindy).
Memorial service for June Bongers will be held on Saturday, Oct. 4, 2014, at noon at Community Hospice Earl B. Hadlow Center for Caring chapel; 4266 Sunbeam Jacksonville, FL 32257. Service will be conducted by the Reverend Terry Lucarelli of Lakewood Presbyterian Church. In lieu of flowers please donate to a charity of your choice .
