Obituary:
To my best friend and wife of 54 years, Shirley A. Anderson (Sager). I said Good Bye to you, along with family, on Monday, October 27, 2014 at Brewster Village in Appleton. We feel blessed that you were born on July 17, 1930 in Appleton. I admired and respected your parents; the late Walter E. and Frieda M. (Halverson), whom enriched your life. We remembered seeing each other in High School, but; it was not our time. You graduated from Appleton High School class of 1948. Much later, at a social event, our paths crossed, again. I knew the moment I saw you, "I think I am going to marry that girl!" Seven months later, I married the "Love of my Life" on July 2, 1960 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Appleton.
Shirley was employed at AT&T for 26 years. She was a life member of The Telephone Pioneers, a member of the Appleton Women Club and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She enjoyed playing bridge, was a world traveler, a talented knitter, sewer, rosemaler, and cook. Shirley and Cy especially loved their annual trips to Walt Disney World (Disney South) and to a cottage on Little Long Lake (Disney North) in Wabeno. She currently was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Appleton.
My dearest Shirley, you were a Breast Cancer survivor. You can still see your beautiful face on the Pink Lion outside St. Elizabeth's Hospital. However, you showed terrific courage and a smile on your face, as you lived your last 14 years with Diabetic Neuropathy and Alzheimer's.
Shirley, you were very, very extraordinary. You felt blessed watching and caring for your grandchildren. Everyone who met you saw your smile, felt your love, and loved being with you. You will be missed by many wonderful friends and family members.
She is survived by her husband Cyrus, children; Kristin (Mark) Gosz of Appleton and Thor (Juliana) Anderson of Coeur d' Alene, ID, by her grandchildren Laura and Aaron Gosz, her sister Carol (Richard) Schilling-Kimball, and by her sisters-in-law; Shirley (William) Connors of Wabeno, and Nancy Lehner of Mequon. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents and her in-laws Roy and Patsy Anderson, and her brothers-in-law; Phillip Anderson and Jack Schilling.
Relatives and friends may visit with the family on Monday, November 24, 2014 from 9:00 AM until 10:30 AM with a service to follow at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church 2330 E. Calumet St. Appleton.

In lieu of flowers a memorial may be made to either the or Prince of Peace memorials.
Shirley's family would like to extend a special Thank you to the nursing staff. Her "Angels" at Orchard Village in Brewster Village for all of their compassion, care, and support over the past two years.
Mom, you were my best friend and love of my life. I am so thankful we had those 54 wonderful years and beautiful memories. Love Ya, Dad -
