    Notes:

    Obituary:
Marlin A. Abel, age 69, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 27, 2015. He was born on March 18, 1946 to the late Carlton and Marcella (Sigl) Abel of Seymour WI. He was married to Kathleen J. Meyer on November 7, 1970, at Emmanuel United Methodist Church Appleton. Marlin worked at Miller Electric for 40+ years. He enjoyed fishing, trapping and deer hunting with his son. He truly was an AVID Packers Fan! Never missing a game! He often told the story of going to the Ice Bowl. He had a special love of his cabin on Pickerel Lake, and taking slow boat cruises on his pontoon boat. He very much enjoyed spending time with his family, most of all his granddaughter, Claira.
He was a man that could fix anything, a true Jack of all trades. Always willing to help anyone out, anytime. His smile was infectious, and his laugh, contagious! A true jokester, and storyteller. We will all miss him and his sense of humor.
Marlin is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Kathleen Abel, children and their spouses; Tina (Steve) Schmidt, Lana (David) Daemmrich, Chad (Amanda Henke) Abel, and granddaughter, Claira Abel. He is further survived by his sisters; Shirley (Ralph) Hilgenberg and Mary Abel.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Carlton and Marcella Abel; and his brother Richard Abel.
Funeral services for Marlin will be held at 5:00pm on Monday, June 1, 2015 at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond St, Appleton with Rev. Lynn Kollath officiating. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 2:00pm until the time of service. Burial will take place at Highland Memorial Park.
The family wishes to thank the Oncology Department at Appleton Medical Center and Theda Care for the special care given to Marlin.
