    News Mention:
The Rev. LeRoy Jerome Hogan was placed on leave by the diocese in 1993 after allegations of sexual assault were leveled against him by a 14-year-old boy.
In a 1993 civil suit filed in Brown County, the alleged victim said he was assaulted between the ages of 7 and 9 while a student at St. Edward School in Mackville between 1985 and 1987. Hogan was pastor at St. Edward from 1979-1990 before transferring to Askeaton's St. Patrick Parish in 1991. Hogan denied all the allegations.
Court documents indicate the civil case was settled out of court with the diocese, led by Bishop Robert Banks, agreeing to pay the alleged victim $65,000, including $25,000 cash and a $40,000 annuity to provide funds for the victim "in case he needs continued treatment." Hogan retired in 1997.
The Post-Crescent was unable to reach Hogan and could not obtain contact information for him from the diocese.

    Obituary:
Patricia A. "Pat" Krause of Shawano passed away on Tuesday November 20, 2012 at her home. Born on December 4, 1948, in Appleton, she was the daughter of John and the late Jeanette (Hogan) VandenElsen. On October 25, 1969 she was united in marriage to Mike Krause in Appleton. Patricia's final days were spent surrounded by her family, to whom she devoted her whole life. She loved them unconditionally and enjoyed every moment possible with them. Some of her favorite things included: playing board games, boating, traveling, crocheting, and enjoying the four seasons while watching her grandchildren play and grow. Most of all she enjoyed feeding everyone. There will never be a better potato salad created by anyone. Patricia's life would seem too short to many, but those who were touched by her understood that the quality of her existence far exceeds the quantity of time in which one lives. Her gentle smile and caring heart brought so much joy to her family and friends.
Patricia is survived by: her husband, Mike; 3 children, Brian (Shelly) Krause, Tim (Cassie) Krause, and Michelle (James) Martens all of Appleton; 7 grandchildren, Tristen, Cody, Taylor, Gavin, Dylan, Madison, and Aiden; her father John of Darboy; and a sister, Kathy (Jerry) Clawson of Florida. She is further survived by her beloved and spoiled sidekick, her dog, Ellie.
She was preceded in death by her mother Jeanette.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 24, 2012, at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Cecil with Deacon Mike Grzeca officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 10:00am until the time of the service. Swedberg funeral home is assisting the family with the arrangements.
