    Obituary:
    Reuben J. "Reub" Aerts, age 91, of De Pere, passed away Friday, February 12, 2016. The son of the late Louis and Nancy (Pries) Aerts was born June 11, 1924 in De Pere. He served his country in the U.S. Navy, and married Edith Plouff on August 20, 1949 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in De Pere. During his career, Reub was a salesman, the co-owner of Frontier Golf Course, co-owner of De Pere Liquor, and a fireman for the City of De Pere. Reub belonged to the VFW, and enjoyed carpentry, golfing, bowling, walking, buying Seroogy's Candy for Edith, as well as helping his neighbors and family. He was a long-time member of St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in De Pere.
    Survivors include his eight children: Ron Aerts, Deb (Mark) Demerath, Randy Aerts, Pam (Mike Gerke) Aerts, Beth Harrison, Rick Aerts, Cathy (Steve) Wendt and Robert (Shanan) Aerts; grandchildren: Devin, Staci (Bati), Drew (Katie), Emily, Ben, Karen (Justin), Kayla, April, Curtis, Allison, Bobby, Riley, Reese, McKenna, Danielle and MaKenzie; great-grandchildren: Jade, Henry, Louise, Blaze, Maddox and Scarlett; siblings, Grace (Norbert) Desotell, Eva (Jim) Schumerth and Nancy Lou Seyler; sisters-in-law: Kay Unrath, Pat (John) Collen and Rosemary (Tom) Quevillion, as well as nieces, nephews and friends.
    In addition to his wife, Edith, and parents, Reub was preceded in death by his siblings: Victor, Adrian, Marvin, Earl, Kenneth, and Maxine.
    Family and friends may visit at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 220 S. Michigan St., De Pere, on Tuesday, February 16, from 8:30am until 9:45am. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00am Tuesday with the Rev. Richard Getchel officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Catholic Cemetery, De Pere. Cotter Funeral Home and Crematory is assisting the family. Online condolences at www.cotterfuneralhome.com
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
