    James Henry Bartz, Sr., age 80 of Neenah, died peacefully with his wife by his side on Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Cherry Meadows in Appleton.
    Jim was born July 24, 1935 to the late Henry and Adeline (Schabow) Bartz in Appleton. He graduated from Appleton West in 1953 and proudly served his country in the Marine Corps from 1953 to 1956. He retired from Neenah Joint School District in 1990.
    Jim was united in marriage to Donna Laakso on April 30, 1999. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, his flower and vegetable gardens, the Green Bay Packers, the Cubbies, and spending time up north, especially with the grandkids.
    Jim is lovingly survived by his wife Donna of 16 ½ years; his son, James Jr. (Julie Anderson), Clintonville; his daughter, Jayne (Jim) Pearce, Wyoming; his step-daughters: Kim (Larry) Pack, Neenah; Kerry (Duane) Jackson, Neenah; and four grandchildren: Quinten Pearce, Jameson Bartz, Jadelyn Pack, and Marissa Jackson. He is further survived by two sisters: Althea Zuleger and Betty Blank; his wife's family, and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including his special nephew, Randy Averbeck; and special friends: Rom Kubiak; Jim Vorland; and Jeff Kunde. Besides his parents, Jim was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Averbeck and June Williamson.
    A Memorial Service for Jim will be held at 4:00 P.M. on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at Neenah's Westgor Funeral Home, Rev. Paul Meier officiating. A visitation will take place from 2:00 P.M. until the hour of service.
    Jim's wishes were to be cremated and a celebration of his life to be held at the ICU Bar in Neenah after the service.

    Inadvertently omitted, but not forgotten, Jim is also survived by his good friend, Tom Johnson; and the mother of his children, Joanne Bartz.
