BIOGRAPHY:
I. McCOMB, M. D., Brillion. Born in Outagamie Co., Wis., Dec. 10, 1850. He was reared on the farm, and attended the High School in Hortonville, and afterward took the scientific course in the Lawrence University in Appleton, graduating in 1870. He began the study of medicine with Dr. Levings, taking his final course in the Chicago Medical College and the medical department of the Northwestern University. After leaving college he commenced practice in Brillion. In 1879, he married Miss Anna Redloff, of Brillion. They have one child, Mildred Ray. He is a member of the I. O. O. F., and attends the Methodist Episcopal Church.

Obituary:
Brillion's venerable and honored physician, Dr. I. N. McComb, passed on at his home in this city on Tuesday evening. He had been ailing for some time, but the end came peacefully with members of his family at the bedside.
Thus passes from the scene a man whom the community has known intimately for over sixty years during which time he practices medicine up to within the past two years, when his advanced age compelled him to seek a more leisurely mode of life. His advice and counsel however, were sought until the past few months when his health obliged him to forego all contact with his loved profession. During all his years none respected him more that his colleagues in the profession with whom he maintained the most friendly relationships not only professionally but socially as well. Always he was approachable and friendly toward old and young regardless of rank or station. He was particularly fond of children and many youngsters here will be missing his cheerful daily greetings. He was moreover, a man of keen intellect and thoroughly read books, newspapers, magazines and works of literature of scientific value. He could converse intelligently on a wide variety of subjects, but within his sympathetic disposition made converse with him a genuine pleasure even on subjects of common everyday interest.
During his earlier years and over the long period of his residence in Brillion he was active in its social and civic life and promoted its welfare on all occasions. He was the type of man who will be remembered with respect for many years to come.
The decedent was born at Hortonville, December 11, 1850. After finishing his schooling at Hortonville he attended and graduated from Lawrence college and obtained his medical degree from Northwestern University. He then came to Brillion in 1877 and opened his medical practice here. A year later, in 1878 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna Radloff at Appleton and a home was established here. His business prospered and he became an active force in the community and at various time invested money in local enterprises. Soon after his marriage he joined the Brillion lodge of Odd Fellows and his been an active member through all the years.
He was a member of the first village board after the village was incorporated in 1885. He served as health officer for many years and also as jury commissioner for Calumet County. In 1902 he was elected and served a term as member of the Assembly for Calumet County. Professionally he was affiliated with the Wisconsin State Medical society, the Calumet County Medical society and was a charter member of the Fox River Medical Society.
In 1919 his wife died. Surviving him are one son, Ross K of Twin Falls, Idaho and two daughters, Mildred R. at home and Vila E. of Chicago. His eldest son, Dr. Earl McComb, died a little more than a year ago. There are four grandchildren, Paul and Betty McComb, of Twin Falls, Idaho, Robert and Richard McComb of Los Angeles, Calif. There is one brother, A. C. McComb of Oshkosh and two sisters, Mrs. Ina V. Reineking of Hortonville and Mrs. Emma Lewis of Oshkosh.
The funeral will be held today at the home, Rev. Nickell officiating. Funeral arrangements are in charge of the local lodge of Odd Fellows. Interment will be in the family lot in the village cemetery.
