    Obituary:
Recker, Carl "Zeke" Fredrick - Carl Recker, 84, went peacefully home to the Lord, Monday, June 15th, 2015, after a short acute illness. He was born December 15th, 1930, in Appleton, to Joseph and Rose Recker.
On June 30th, 1956, Carl married Eunice Sachs at St. Therese Church in Appleton, WI, and shared 58 wonderful years together. Carl enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved to fish, from his annual trips to Lake Michigan to fishing off the dock at his Winneconne lake home of 36 years.
Carl loved to putter and repair things. If you needed something fixed you would call Carl. He loved to garden and was especially proud of his red geraniums. He enjoyed helping out and spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. Carl was always willing to help out neighbors and friends and volunteered on various committees, most recently being a member of the "Grandpa Patrol" at his parish, Holy Spirit in Kimberly.
Carl served with the Air Force in the Korean War for 4 years and completed that journey participating in the Old Glory Honor Flight in April 2015.
After the military, he worked at several mechanical contracting companies retiring from AZCO as shop foreman. He served on the steamfitter apprenticeship committee for over 20 years.
Carl is survived by his wife Eunice and their 4 children, Julie (Marlin) Meitzen, Dave (Nancy) Recker, Laurie (Scott) Holland, and Mary (Todd) Pulizos. He will be deeply missed by his 7 grandchildren, Carolyn, Nathan, Laura, Amanda, Nick, Steven, and Ally. Carl is also survived by his brother Mark, 4 step-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Carl was preceded in death by both his parents and his brother, Paul.
Friends may call on Thursday, June 18th, 2015, from 4 to 7 p.m., at Valley Funeral Home, 2211 N. Richmond Street, Appleton. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. A celebration of Carl's life will be held at Holy Spirit Church, 620 E. Kimberly Ave, Kimberly, WI, from 9:30 to 11 a.m., Friday, June 19th, 2015. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said at 11 a.m., with MSGR Jim Vandenhogen officiating. Military Honors will follow the Funeral Mass. Burial will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Appleton.
The family would like to thank the staff at St. Paul's Home for the care and compassion they showed Carl.
"Grieve not, nor speak of me with tears, but laugh and talk of me as if I were beside you there."
