Bonnie Marie (West) Zapp, age 81 passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 4, 2012 of complications from cancer.
She was born in Hortonville on March 30, 1931, and resided in Appleton, WI. On May 29, 1953, Bonnie married Gerald (Jerry) Zapp and raised five daughters. After Jerry's death, Bonnie was fortunate enough to find love and happiness again with Fred Mix.
Bonnie retired in 1995 from Fox Valley Surgical Associates after a successful career in insurance, billing and bookkeeping. Bonnie enjoyed traveling, playing golf, making ceramics and reading the opinion page. But her true passion in life was people.

    Obituary:
Janet E. Krueger, 53, passed away January 15th after a two-year fight with ALS/Lou Gehrig's disease and went home to see her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We mourn her passing, but are blessed with a feeling of comfort that our Lord has wrapped His loving arms around her, and she is finally at peace in His kingdom. Janet's strong faith and love of God gave her strength throughout her battle. We will always remember Janet's heart of gold and deep love for God, John and her family. Janet was born in Appleton, WI, on April 4, 1957, to Bonnie (West) Zapp and the late Jerry Zapp. On May 28, 1977, Janet married her soul mate John, and they lived for 9 years in Menasha. In 1986, they built their home in Mackville, where Janet used one of her many talents and took meticulous care of her home and yard.
Janet worked at North Heights Veterinary Clinic for 30 years. She gave the ultimate care to every animal that came through the door. She took care of the animals like they were her own, and several that didn't have a home, she brought into her own home to the surprise of John. Until the ALS forced her to retire in 2008, Janet loved working with Dr. Chuchel, Dr. Byom, and Dr. Sanger. As Janet's disease progressed, it was apparent family could no longer care for her 100% of the time, and in January 2009 Amy Bohlmann, a CNA, was brought in and became Janet's primary daytime caretaker. With Amy's help, Janet was able to live a more fulfilled and dignified life at home. It became apparent in August, 2009 that Janet's care needs increased, and Ali Garland, CNA, joined caretaking forces. Amy and Ali became more than caretakers and friends, they became extended family to both Janet and John. Before Janet was diagnosed with ALS, she was an avid walker and kept very active. She looked forward to her girl's weekends with her family and close girlfriends, trips to Las Vegas with John, and weekly visits to Kreatures to spend time with her friends. Janet had a wonderful sense of humor and her love for laughter was infectious. She was a compassionate, loving, confident, intelligent and giving woman who will be missed, but not forgotten by all.
Janet was preceded in death by her father Jerry Zapp, infant sister Debra, nephew Jared Barnes, father in-law Wilmer Krueger, and brother-in-law Keith Krueger.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years John, mother Bonnie Zapp and friend Fred Mix, sisters Julie (Bruce Barnes) Zapp, Mary Jo (Jeff) Williams, Sarah (Bill) Sjoquist, Sue (Jim) Reinl. Also survived by her mother-in-law Vera Krueger and her brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob (Mary) Krueger, Jim (Trudy) Krueger, Barb (Gary) Eick, Kel (Dawn) Krueger, Kathy(Dan) Dorchester, and many nieces, nephews and friends. She will be dearly missed by her pride and joy Jazz, Teddy and Bella.
A Christian Funeral Service for Janet will be held at 4 p.m. on Thursday, January 20, 2011 at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church (N3505 Hwy 47) in Mackville with Rev. Jeffrey Suhr and Rev. Micah Martin officiating. Family and friends may visit the church starting at 1 p.m. until the time of service.
