    Meulemans, Helen F.Helen F. Meulemans, 89, Town of Kaukauna, passed away peacefully Friday, J uly 8, 2005 at her home. She was born July 10, 1915 in the Town of Lawrenc e, daughter to the late Louis and Hattie Gerrits. She married Raymond P. M eulemans, February 9, 1933 at St. Paul's Catholic Church in Wrightstown, a nd he preceded her in death in 1997. Helen liked painting, crafts, and pla ying cards.Survivors include two daughters: Elizabeth Piso, Kaukauna; Arlene (Willia m) Egan, Kaukauna; 20 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, and numero us great-great grandchildren.Helen was preceded in death by her parents, husband, Raymond, infant so n, Joseph, son and daughter-in-law: Robert (Dorothy) Meulemans, daughter a nd son-in-law: Mary Jane (Ronald, Sr.) Van Schyndel, son-in-law, Jack Hopf ensperger, four sisters and three brothers.Family and friends may call Monday, July 11, 2005 from 10 a.m. until the h our of Mass at St. Paul Catholic Church, Wrighstown. Mass of Christian Bur ial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at church, with Father John Sch uh officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. DeWane-Cotter Funer al Home, Wrighstown, is assisting the family.

    Lloyd R. Gerrits, 87, died on February 2 at Door County Medical Center, Sturgeon Bay, after a brief illness. He was born March 25, 1927, in West De Pere, to Peter J. and Jeanette (Sanders) Gerrits.
    Lloyd married Dorothy "Dottie" Van Remortel September 17, 1966 at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay. Upon graduating from Nicolet High School in West De Pere in 1945, he enlisted in the Navy. After World War II, he enrolled at The Gregg College, School of Court Reporting, Chicago, and took his first position as Official Court Reporter in the Circuit Court, Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
    He returned to his home area in 1950 to accept an official Court Reporter position in a newly created court and continued to serve in the Brown County Court system for 28 years before taking his retirement. He was a member of the Wisconsin Court Reporters Association serving as Secretary and Vice President.
    Lloyd and Dottie lived in Allouez for 17 years and then built a home on their 96-acre wooded property in the Town of Oneida where they enjoyed planting and nurturing trees, blazing hiking trails, photographing and studying the natural beauty that surrounded them. They moved to Door County in 1996 and built a home near Sister Bay, where he enjoyed vegetable gardening, building a beautiful stone hedge and caring for its natural beauty.
    Lloyd and Dottie had many winters as snowbirds in Ft. Myers, FL as well as exploring national parks and natural areas throughout the country in their travel trailer. They also enjoyed many trips to Europe.
    An avid outdoorsman, over the years Lloyd spent time hunting, fishing, birding, camping and raising beagles for hunting and field trialing. He loved nature and had a reverence for the environment. Taking care of it was as natural as breathing. He was a past member of the Brown County Conservation Alliance, Izaak Walton League, Gardeners Club of Green Bay and N.E.W. Beagle Club. He was also a member of the Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of Door County (UUFDC).
    A strong believer in giving back to his community, Lloyd served for many years as a volunteer usher with the Peninsula Music Festival, the American Folklore Theater, the Door Community Auditorium, and Peninsula Players. He was also a member of the Door County Land Trust, The Ridges, Green Bay Botanical Garden, Nature Conservancy and Natural Resources Defense Council.
    Lloyd is survived by his wife, Dottie, siblings, Clarence "Whitey" Gerrits, Audrey Manders, Rosella "Rody" (Lee) Conard, sister-in-law, Carol Gerrits, Godchildren, Kathy Rasmussen, Don Gerrits, Larry Conard and Angie Van Remortel-Bryan, as well as many other nieces, nephews and loved ones.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Robert, Kenneth and Donald Gerrits, sisters-in-law, Evelyn Gerrits and Lil Gerrits, and brother-in-law, Sylvester "Sam" Manders.
    Family and friends may call RYAN FUNERAL HOME and Crematory, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere from 10:00am to Noon on Saturday, February 14, 2015. A Funeral Service will follow, Rev.     William J. School "Bill," age 80, Mountain, passed away in Waupaca on March 20, 2011, following a long illness during which he fought cancer and beat it twice. Bill was born in Oneida on December 12, 1930, to the late Raymond and Jeanette (Gerrits) School. Bill served in the United States Marine Corp in the Korean War. He married Evelyn Fisher on September 12, 1953, at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Suring. Bill was employed for 26 years as a Foreman at Badger Northland in Kaukauna. In 1979 the family moved to Mountain where Bill logged, worked as a janitor at the Mountain School, and served as a bus driver. He was a past Supervisor for the Town of Mountain. His favorite pastimes included fly fishing, bird watching, and he was a true nature lover. Bill is a member at St. Michael Catholic Church Chapel at Chute Pond. He had a very strong faith in God.
    Bill is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn of Mountain; two daughters, Kathy (Mike) Fritz of Mountain, Diane (Bruce) Wilz of Darboy; six sons, Dave (special friend Barbara) School of Helena, Montana, Dan (Barb) School of Darboy, Brian (Christine) School of Cecil, Tom (Sandy) School of Howard, Keith (Connie) School of Darboy, Don (Dana) School of Howard; two sisters, LaVere (Norman) Kufner of Suring, Evelyn (Jim) Quandt of Suring; sixteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other special friends.

    Visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011, at St. Michael Catholic Church Chapel at Chute Pond from 10 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 1 p.m. with Father David Barrett officiating. Bill will be interred in Breed Union Cemetery with Military Rites. Gruetzmacher Funeral Home assisting the family.

    Kaukauna - Ethel H. (Gerrits) Walker passed away on Sunday Dec. 17, 2017 at St. Elizabeth's Hospital after a brief illness. She was born Feb. 5, 1931, the daughter of William & Loretta Gerrits. She graduated from Kaukauna High School. On October 14, 1952 she married her prom king and the love of her life, Eugene A. Walker, at Holy Cross Church; she resided in Kaukauna until her passing.
    Ethel enjoyed playing bridge with the girls for many decades & numerous other card games with both friends & family. She also loved playing bingo & spending time with her family. She made the world's best party mix & always made sure you never left her house hungry!
    Ethel is survived by a son: Tom (Carmen) Walker of Iron Mountain, MI & daughter Sharie (Jim) Halverson of Lake Poygan; six grandchildren: Jason Walker, Chelsey (Mark) Stephenson, Leah (Kevin) Kamps, Cory (Kayla) Powell, Austin & Blake Halverson; three great-grandchildren: Corey Stephenson, Cade Powell & Arden Kamps. Ethel is further survived by two sisters: Lorraine Otto, Vy Dickrell & a brother: Richard (Delores) Gerrits, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins & friends. She was preceded in death by her parents William & Loretta Gerrits, husband Eugene Walker, his parents Lila & Arden Walker, brother Mel Gerrits, brothers-in-law Richard "Pro" Walker, John Walker, Amby Dickrell, Gayland Otto, and daughter in-law Mary Walker.
    The Memorial Mass for Ethel will be held at 12 noon, Thursday, December 21, 2017, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating.     Melvin Gerrits, 73, passed away on Wednesday, May 19, 2010, at his retirement retreat on Lake Gogebic in Michigan. Mel was born on Sept. 28, 1936, in Green Bay, to William and Loretta (School) Gerrits. Mel worked at Thilmany until he purchased Mel's Outer Limits, which he ran for over 30 years where he enjoyed laughing and joking with his friends and customers. He was an avid fisherman, hunter, Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers fan and also enjoyed golfing and playing cards.     Mel is survived by three children, Vicki (Jason) Montanye, Kaukauna, Doug (special friend Sharon) Fuhs, Kimberly, and Darlene (Brian) Kersten, Kaukauna; four grandchildren, Travis and Nikki Kersten, and Kari and Linsey Fuhs; his siblings, Lorraine (Gayland) Otto, Ethel (Eugene) Walker, Viola Dickrell, and Richard (Dolores) Gerrits; special friends, Agnes Gerrits and Fabian Arnoldussen; his dog, Tanner; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Ambrose Dickrell.
    A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, May 25, 2010, at 4 p.m. at Holy Cross Catholic Church (309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna) with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating.     Merlin Martin School, age 84 of Freedom, WI went home to our Lord on Monday October 27, 2014. Born January 19th, 1930 to the late John and Marie (Gerrits) School.
    On October 4th, 1950 he married June Vandenberg of De Pere at St. Paul Catholic Church in Wrightstown, daughter of the late Nicholas and Gertrude (Vande Hey) Vandenberg. Merl served in the US army in Korea. He retired from Roundy's in Little Chute in 1985. He was a member of the VFW #7692 of Freedom, The American Legion #258 of Little Chute, Member of the Knights of Columbus #8061 Council of Freedom having served as Deputy Grand Knight. Merl enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and spending time with his family. He loved sports especially the Packers and Brewers. He was an usher and devoted member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Freedom. He truly loved his family and his dogs Ollie, Gizmo and Bo.
    Survivors include his wife June of 64 years, son Ken School of Madison, daughters Lynn School (special friend Nic Lehnertz) De Pere, Lisa Bolwerk (special friend Russ Bolwerk) Freedom. grandchildren Dana Greely, Cincinnati; Matt Greely (special friend Amie Baldwin) Appleton; Ryan (Tara) Bolwerk and great granddaughter Nora, Appleton; Nicole Bolwerk (special friend Dan Polans) Milwaukee; Michael & Liz Bolwerk and great grandsons Marcus & Lucas, Appleton. sister Dorothy Goffard of Greenville; sisters-in-law Isabelle Vosters, Freedom; and Joan Schultz, Shakopee, MN brother-in-law James Hoffman as well as many other relatives and friends.

    Rosella J. Verbeten, 78, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 22, 2011 at St. Paul Home, Kaukauna. Rosie was born on December 17, 1932, in Oneida, WI, daughter of John and Marie (Gerrits) School. Rosella was united in marriage to James Verbeten, on April 29, 1952, at Immaculate Conception Church. She worked at Zwicker Knitting Mills, Becher Engineering, Advaced Industries, and Franciscan Care Center for 17 years. Rosie enjoyed bowling, playing cards, and puzzles. After retirement, she worked for the Step Program at Kaukauna Schools for 7 years. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who was happiest when surrounded by her family. Rosie was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church, the Christian Mother Altar Society, and the Queen of Peace Choir.
    Rosie is survived by three sons: Thomas (special friend Cathy Kramer), Timothy Verbeten, and Terrence (Lisa) Verbeten; six daughters: Diane (Jim) Beahm, Karen Verbeten, Donna (George) Otte, Debbie (Ken) Vander Heiden, Shari (special friend Al Wildenberg), and Sheila (fiancé Mike Novachich) Verbeten; 22 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; brother: Merlin (June) School; sister: Dorothy Goffard; brother-in-law: Daniel (Margie) Verbeten; sister-in-law: Patricia (Roger) Bowers; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends. Rosie will also be sadly missed by her friends "The Golden Girls."
    In addition to her parents and former husband, Rosie is also preceded in death by an infant brother Jack, grandsons: Mark Kiar and Joshua Verbeten; mother- and father-in-law: Howard and Mable Verbeten; Brother-in-law: Ervin Goffard; and sister-in-law: Judy Young.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Monday, September 26, 2011, at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, with Fr. Tom Pomeroy officiating.     Kaukauna - Our dearest Elizabeth Mary (Meulemans) Piso died on Thursday, March 1 st 2018 and now rests in Jesus arms. Oldest child of Raymond Paul and Helen Florence (Gerrits) Meulemans. Betty was born on May 25, 1933 on the family farm in the Town of Lawrence where she resided until she married CPL Kenneth Piso (USMC) on October 25, 1952 in San Diego, CA. They lived in Milwaukee until settling on the Piso family farm in Suring, WI. During her lifetime Betty worked at Woolworths, Zwicker Knitting Mills both in Appleton and finally 25 years at NuLine Industries in Suring.
    Surviving loved ones include her beloved sister Arlene (Meulemans) Hopfensperger/Egan of Kaukauna. Her children, Barbara Helen (Willie) Patz of Neenah, Steven James of Lena, Robert Kenneth (Christine) of Pulaski and Karen Ann (James) Callahan III of De Pere.
    Betty was blessed with 6 granddaughters Tammy Elizabeth Patz, Theresa Nichole (Patz) Janicki of Nekoosa, Shiloh Lee (Piso) Hatfield of Pound, Valeen Marie Piso of Lakewood, Stephanie Nicole (Piso) Hartleben of Eden, and Leah Charlotte Piso of Pulaski and her treasured grandson, James Ryan Callahan of De Pere. Betty also welcomed into her heart 4 great granddaughters and 5 great grandsons.
    She was preceeded in death by her parents, brother Robert, youngest sister Mary Jane (Meulemans) Van Schyndel, oldest granddaughter Tammy Beth, and son-in-law James Callahan III.
    Being a devout Catholic Betty was a member of St. Michael's Catholic Church in Suring and was a life-long member of the Altar Society. Betty loved reading as did her father and going out to Red Lobster with daughter Karen and grandson Jimmy. She loved flowers and enjoyed feeding the wild birds in winter, but her favorite season was spring. Betty loved flowers, her favorites were Lilacs and Lilly of the Valley. She loved playing cards and bingo.
    Family and friends may visit at St. Clare Parish-St. Paul Site, Wrightstown, on Wednesday, March 7, from 2:00pm until 3:45pm. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 4:00pm Wednesday with the Rev. Brian Wideman officiating. Interment in St. Paul Catholic Cemetery, Wrightstown.     Ronald N. School, Kaukauna, age 69, passed away at Franciscan Care Center on Wednesday, October 25, 2006. He was born in Freedom on June 23, 1937, son of the late Lawrence and Virginia (Gerrits) School. On July 1, 1963, he married his wife of 43 years, Eileen Bloomer. Ron served in the United States Air Force overseas in Japan from 1955 to 1960. After the Air Force Ron was employed at Thilmany's until his retirement in 1999.Ron was an avid sports fan of the Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Vikings. Fishing, bird watching and going to the casinos; all close to his cabin, were among his favorite activities. Ron was very proud of his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.Ron is survived by his wife Eileen; children: Janet (Ron) Hendricks of Kaukauna; Judy (Ken) Bowers of Freedom; and Wayne School of Portage; grandchildren: Justin Olveda, Cale and Dillon School; and Cory, Katie, Bridget and Leah Bowers; sister, Shirley LeClaire of Kaukauna; brother, James School of Kaukauna; brother-in-law, John (Carol) Bloomer; godchild, Don School; father-in-law, Howard (Erma) Yakel of Suring.He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Dorothy (Norm) Hansen of Suring.The funeral liturgy will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, October 28, 2006, at HOLY CROSS CATHOLIC CHURCH, 309 Desnoyer St., Kaukauna, with Fr.     Seymour - Lisa Marie Gerrits, age 53 died peacefully with her family at her side on Monday August 13th 2018. Lisa was born in Fond du lac Wisconsin to Urban and Gretchen Gerrits. She proudly graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Green Bay in Environmental Science and worked for Schneider National for 22 years.
    Lisa currently resided in Seymour WI and shared her passion for life with all she met. Her joy for life was contagious and blossomed in her talents as an artist and a Chef. She was known by others through her constant curiosity, quick wit and daily "God Moments".
    Lisa is survived and remembered by her daughter Jessica K. Johnson, her parents, brother Brian (Peggy) Gerrits and her special niece and nephews, Lilly, Joe and Timmy Gerrits. Her infectious smile and generous heart is remembered by extended family, many friends and co-workers.
    The memorial service for Lisa will be held at 4:00 PM on Monday, August 20, 2018 at Wichmann Funeral Home (537 N. Superior St., Appleton). Visitation will be held from 2:00 PM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in Lisa's name.
    Thank you to all Lisa's Angels who supported her through her journey. A special thank you to Dr. Yao and Alicia, to Theda Care Hospice, especially, Sarah, Emily, Nikki and Karin.

    Jacob Michael Van Schyndel, 18, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 at home, surrounded by his loving family.
    Family and friends may call Monday, February 17, 2014 from 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Wrightstown. Visitation will continue on Tuesday at church from 9:00 a.m. until the hour of funeral service at 11:00 a.m., with the Rev. Matthew Vik officiating. Interment will be in the church cemetery.     Jacob Michael Van Schyndel, 18, Kaukauna, passed away peacefully following a lifelong, inspirational battle with cancer on Monday, February 10, 2014 at home, surrounded by his loving family. He was born August 20, 1995 in Green Bay, son to Ronald and Brenda (Just) Van Schyndel.
    Jacob was a senior at Wrightstown High School, where he managed the football and wrestling teams. He enjoyed fishing and recently became interested in hunting, getting his first bear last year and going on his first pheasant hunt. Jacob also liked going up north to the family cabin. He loved socializing with people and was a very caring young man. Throughout his battle with his illness he wanted everyone to know 'if he could fight cancer this big thing then they could fight minor things. He didn't believe in giving up or taking the easy way out. He had a great work ethic, never afraid to do anything even with his limitations. He liked being involved with people no matter what the circumstances. He loved animals, especially his dogs Scruffy and Herbie. He had great faith and was a member of St. John Ev. Lutheran Church in Wrightstown.
    Jacob will be deeply missed by his parents, Ron "Butch" and Brenda Van Schyndel; three brothers: Nick, Appleton, Matt and Jon, at home; maternal grandmother, Carol Just, De Pere; great-grandmother, Evelyn Van Schyndel, Kaukauna; aunts and uncles: Sue and Greg Verhagen, Wrightstown, Chris and Tim Trudell, Jeff and Kathie Just, Rod and Tami Just, Tim and Missy Just, all of De Pere; Becky and David Pytak, Hollandale, Brian and Amy Van Schyndel, Kaukauna, Kristy Van Schyndel (Godmother), Kaukauna, Kevin (fiancé-Anna) Van Schyndel (Godfather),Wrightstown; Godparents, Ken (Char) Lemke, Wrightstown; and many cousins and countless friends.
    He was preceded in death by his sister, Tiffany Van Schyndel; maternal grandfather, Roger Just; paternal grandparents, Ron and Mary Van Schyndel; great-grandparents: Ray and Helen Meulemans, Martin Van Schyndel, Helen and Ernest Treichel, and Sadie and Harold Just.

    I will always remember your laugh no matter how dark the times were. You've always been helpful and insightful. I will never forget the things you've said to lift my spirits with genuine care and love, but not only to me, to anyone you met. Your personality was very warm and welcoming. We are very proud of you. I hope you were half as proud of me. You have changed my life and I owe you a lot. You have never let me down and were always there for me.     I have watched you go through so much throughout your life with all your doctor appointments, treatments, and surgeries, but also I watched with great pride you accomplish things that no one ever thought you could. You taught me so much. Somehow you gave me the strength to help you through everything. When I would say I wished I could go through this instead of you, you would tell me you wouldn't want me to go through it and you could handle it and you did. You never felt sorry for yourself. I always worried there would come a day that God would take you to heaven, but prayed that day would never come. Now you have no limitations. I will miss your daily hugs and 'Love You Mom.'
