Obituary:
Ruth Jaeger, age 72, was taken to Heaven on November 14, 2015 after the long downward spiral of liver disease.
She was born Ruth Ann Kroening on August 7, 1943, the eldest of 3 daughters of Elmer and Rose Kroening. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John & St. James Lutheran Church and grew up on a farm near Reedsville. She was a 1961 graduate of Fox Valley Lutheran High School. She was employed at H.C. Prange and then AAL. On August 24, 1963 she married Ken Jaeger and they were blessed with 4 sons.
Raising 4 boys was challenging, but Ruth loved being a mother and homemaker. When the children were all in school, she returned to work at Mercury Marine National Boat Shows. After moving back to Appleton, she was hired at the Medical Staff Office for AMC & St. Elizabeth for 6 years. She was transferred to Appleton Medical Center for 9 years to support the AMC-TC merger and later transferred to Theda Clark Medical Center for 9 years. She loved the hospitals and challenging work. She retired in 2010.
Ruth shared caregiver roles after her father's stroke and during her mother-in-law's and her mom's health issues. Ruth also experienced many procedures and surgeries, pain and recovery throughout her own life.
Ruth is survived by her husband of 53 years, Ken; 4 sons: Jeffrey (Michelle), Greendale; Paul (Dawn, granddaughter Olivia), New London; Bryan (grandsons Maxx and Dorian, and their mom Natalie), Milwaukee; and Barry (fiancé Jody), Waukesha/Appleton; sisters Kay (Ron) Hinkens, Little Chute; and Rosemary Kroening, Kaukauna; brothers-in-law Darryl (Diane) Jaeger, Appleton and Steve (Ruth Ann), Jaeger, Green Bay; Grimm relatives and many special friends.
Ruth was a member of Mount Olive Lutheran Church (WELS), a Wisconsin Right to Life supporter for 43 years and a Time of Grace Ministry Partner.
A Christian funeral service for Ruth will be 11:00 AM on Wednesday November 18, 2015 at Mount Olive Ev. Lutheran Church, 930 E Florida Ave, Appleton, with Rev. Jasper Sellnow officiating. Visitation will be held at the church Wednesday morning, beginning at 9:00 AM until the hour of service. A private burial in Reedsville will take place at a later date.
Ruth's family would like to thank the entire staff at AMC for their loving care, as well as all the love and support from our friends and family.
We, your family, will always miss your irreplaceable loving ways, courage and devotion to our Savior, more than words can say. We rejoice that He has called you Home.
