    Obituary:
Lydia H. Ebert, 93, Manawa, formerly of the Township of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, Wis., passed away Friday, Sept. 11, 2009, at the Manawa Community Nursing Center. Lydia was born on Oct. 31, 1915, in Bear Creek. She was the daughter of the late Ferdinand and Martha (Otto) Koehler. Lydia grew up in Bear Creek, where she graduated from high school. She was baptized, confirmed, and was a lifelong member at the Trinity Lutheran Church, also in Bear Creek, where she belonged to the Trinity Ladies Aid.
On Oct. 26, 1939, Lydia was united in marriage to Leonard "Len" Ebert at Trinity. For several years the couple farmed near New London and started their family. They then moved to South Dakota where they farmed 2000 acres and later moved back to Bear Creek in 1952. The couple bought an International Harvester dealership which they operated for 17 years before starting a new implement business called Len Ebert & Sons, Inc. in Bear Creek, which is still operated by Lydia's family today.
Lydia retired from the implement business in 1983 and spent a good portion of her retirement traveling. She particularly liked fishing in Canada with Len and wintering in the Southern U.S. in their new RV. Len preceded his wife in death on May 28, 1988. Lydia also loved to play Bingo and spend time with family and friends.
Survivors are one son, Leon (Debbie) Ebert, Clintonville; a son-in-law, Tom Bartelme, Fond du Lac; a daughter-in-law, Joan Ebert, Clintonville; four grandchildren, Tim (Crystal) Ebert, Clintonville; Kellie (Dan) Day, Oregon, Wis.; Eric Bartelme, Rosendale; Alan (Kassy) Bartelme, St. Paul, Minn.; two great-grandchildren, Rachel and Jason Ebert, Clintonville; also cousins, Gordon Klemp and Florence Breed, both of Clintonville.
Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Leonard "Len"; a daughter, Mary Bartelme; and a son, Ronald.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 15, 2009, at 11 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in the Township of Bear Creek, Waupaca County, Wis., with the Rev. Steven Pockat officiating. Interment will be at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery also in Bear Creek. Friends may call at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of the services.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Trinity Lutheran Church in Bear Creek, would be appreciated by Lydia's family.
The Eberhardt-Stevenson Funeral Home & Crematory in Clintonville, is assisting her family.
