    MRS. PETER LOM
    R. A.. Hooyman, 406 State-st., received a message Tuesday morning announcing the death Monday of his sister, Mrs. Peter Lom, at her home at Rudolph. Decedent is survived by her husband and seven children. The body will arrive at Neenah at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and will be taken to the old homestead at Freedom. The funeral will be held at 10 o'clock Wednesday morning from St. Nicholas church, Freedom.

    Description: Little Chute Man Drowns In Winnebago
    Wilbur Lom, 24, Little Chute, was drowned at 3:30 Sunday afternoon while bathing at the Willows on Lake Winnebago. The body was recovered
    shortly after. Lom wlth three companions, the Misses Hattie Jansen and Alice Gerritts and William Jansen, all of Little Chute, were walking hand-ln-hand
    in the water, which was only waist deep. They stepped off a sandbar, and Jansen, the only member of the party who could swim, rescued the two girls. When he returned, Lom
    could not bo found. After he had dived after him several times and could not locate him, he called the coroner of WInnebago-co. Shortly after
    his arrival Jansen located the body. The body was taken to the Fargo funeral home at Kaukauna. Funeral services will be held at 9 o'clock at
    St. John church at Little Chute, with tho Rev. J. Sprangers in charge. Burial will be in St. John Catholic cemetery at Llttle Chute.
    Survivers are his father, Peter Lom, Little Chuln; three brothers, Edmund, and Herbert, Little Chute, and John of Port Edwards; three
    sisters, Delphlne and Mary, Little Chute, and Mrs. Wilmer Versch, Rudolph.

    Verhagen, Delaphi ne C. "Del"Delaphine C. "Del" nee Lom Verhagen, 93, Little Chute, died Friday, Jan. 2 7, 2006 at Parkside Care Center, Little Chute. She was born Nov. 25, 19 12 daughter of Peter and Anna (Hooyman) Lom. Delaphine married Walter J. V erhagen and he preceded her in death May 4, 1971. Mrs. Verhagen was a memb er of St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, Little Chute and the St. Elizab eth Society. For the past 35 years Del was the cook for various cler gy at St. John Nepomucene, concluding with Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hoge n. She enjoyed crocheting and making afghans, especially for the cler gy at her church. Del also enjoyed crossword puzzles and her family cotta ge at Lake Helen in Rosholt.Del is survived by her children, Jim (Myra) Verhagen, Lakewood; Grace (Car l) Fiestedt, Greenville; Eugene F.     Lom, Herbert G. AppletonAge 84, died on Friday, June 14, 2002 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He was bo rn in Rudolph, Wisconsin on February 22, 1918 to the late Peter and Anna ( Hooyman) Lom. On May 6, 1944 he married Josephine Van Gompel. Herbert w as a member of St. Edward Catholic Church in Mackville. He worked for t he Civil Conservation Corporation with the government from 1935 to 194 0. He and his wife farmed in the Town of Center, and he also worked at App leton Papers for 37 years.     Mrs. Marcellus Van Gompel, ( June Verhagen) , 338 Cherry Lane Little Chute; Age 51 passed away at 4: 35 p.m. Wednesday, December 24, 1986. She was a life long resident of Litt le Chute. She was born, June 1, 1935, in Little Chute. She graduated fr om St. John High School, Little Chute, in 1953. Mrs. VanGompel was a memb er of St. John's Catholic Church, a former member and President of the S t. John School Board, also former member of the adult choir. She was a mem ber of the Worship Committee, a Vice-President and President-of the Home S chool Association. She was a Religious Education Teacher, a Den Mother Pa ck 51, a Vice President of the PTA Little Chute Elementary School, a memb er of the Diocesan Ministry for the engaged, and was active in the Dioce se of Green Bay Cursillo program. Survivors include her husband, Marcell us (mumps); her mother, Del Verhagen, Llttle Chute; three sons: Russell Va nGompel and his wife, Mary Jo, and their son, Marc, Roseville.Minnesot a; Gregory VanGompel and his wife, Sheila, Crystal, Minnesota; Tim VanGomp el, Little Chute; three brothers: James Verhagen, and his wife, Myra, Darb oy; Eugene Verhagen, and his wife, Sandy, Kaukauna; Douglas Verhagen, Litt le Chute; a sister, Grace Fiestedt, and her husband, Carl, Greenville; a s ister-in-law, Fran Verhagen, Little Chute. She was preceded in death by h er father, Walter Verhagen, a brother, Walter Verhagen Jr. both of Litt le Chute. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, from St. John Catholic C hurch, with the Rev. Msgr. James Vanden Hogen officiating. Friends may ca ll at St. John Catholic Church, from 4:30 to 9 p.m. Friday (today) and fr om 12 noon Saturday until the time of service. There will be a prayer serv ice at 7:30 p.m. Friday. In lieu of flowers a memorial fund has been estab lished. The Verkuilen Funeral Home is assisting the family.

    Walter Verhagen, age 33, di ed unexpectedly at 6:45 p.m. Monday. He was born March 8th, 1943 in Litt le Chute. He had been employed by the Thilmany pulp and paper company. M r. Verhagen had been active in the Boy scouts. He was a 1961 gradua te of St. John high-school. Survivors include his wife, Frances, his moth er Mrs. Walter (Del) Verhagen Sr., of Little Chute, two daughters, and Jul ie and Kathy, both at home, three brothers, James of Darboy, Eugene of Kau kauna, and Douglas of Little Chute, two sisters, Mrs. Marcellus (June) Van Gompel, of Little Chute and Mrs. Carleton (Grace) Fiestedt of Greenvill e.     Michael James (Mike) Stephani, age 69, of De Pere, WI died unexpectedly Saturday October 19, 2013. He was born in Freedom, WI to the late Ray and Mary (Hooyman) Stephani on June 22, 1944. Mike graduated from Abbot Pennings High School and St. Norbert College. He married his high school sweetheart, Janice (Weyers), and last month they celebrated fifty years of marriage. Mike was Treasurer of Gold Bond Ice Cream and most recently an organic farmer and owner of a small trucking company.
    Mike was an avid Packer fan, farmer, sheepshead player, and Corvette lover. Most important to him was his family and the good help he had in the farming and trucking business. He loved spending time relaxing at their place in Lakewood.
    Mike was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He is survived by his wife, Janice; his son Patrick (Sandra) and their children Matthew and Andrew; his daughter Kristine Hansen. He is further survived by his brother Frank (Sally), his sisters Mary Ellen Hofacker, Rosanne Hofacker, Cathy (Richard) Green and Ann (Rick) Weyenberg. He is also survived by his wife's siblings Vernon (Maureen) Weyers, Bill (Eileen) Weyers, Jeanne (Gary) Allgeyer, Betty (Curt) Konkle and Carol (Lee) Kortz. Mike is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
    Family and friends may call at RYAN FUNERAL HOME, 305 North Tenth Street, De Pere, from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, October 22, 2013. Parish prayer service will be held at 4:00 pm.     Rosanne (Stephani) Hofacker, age 66, of Appleton, WI died unexpectedly Wednesday February 3, 2016. She was born in Green Bay, WI to the late Raymond and Mary (Hooyman) Stephani on May 5, 1949. Rosanne graduated from Freedom High School in 1967. She married Anthony Hofacker.
    Rosanne's greatest joy was taking care of her family and her grandchildren. She loved cooking and paid great attention to detail, especially when talking about her grandchildren. She was employed by Cleanpower for 15 years and babysat her grandchildren.
    She was preceded in death by her parents and her brothers Mike and Jim.
    Rosanne was a loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She is survived by her daughter Jodie (Mike) Schmitt and their children Sydney, Sadie, and Sophia; her son Jason (Cindy) Hofacker and their daughter Nicole; and her sons Jeremy Hofacker, Chad Hofacker, and Anthony Hofacker II.
    She is further survived by her sister Mary Ellen Hofacker and family, her brother Frank (Sally) Stephani and family, her sisters Cathy (Rich) Green and family, Ann (Rick) Weyenberg and family, her sister-in-law Janice (Weyers) Stephani and family, and the family of Jim Stephani.

    Hope Elizabeth Hofacker was born asleep in Christ on Thursday, April 5, 2001, and is now one of God's little angels. She will be sadly missed by her parents, Jeffrey and Laura (Smet) Hofacker, Appleton; her older brother, Lathan. She also leaves behind her grandparents, Paul Hofacker, Mary Ellen Hofacker and Clarence (Margaret) Smet; aunts and uncles, Dan Hofacker, Greg (Jodi) Hofacker, Jenny (fiance Andy Strelow) Hofacker, Tom (Sue) Smet, Sue (Bob) Christensen, Joann (Lenny) Smurawa, Bob Smet, Linda (Mike) Nolan and John (Renee) Smet. Hope is further survived by her cousins, Collin, Caden, Craig, Adam, Nicole, Paul, Jerrod, Gary, Janice, Trisha and Erica. A Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 10, 2001, at St. Edward Catholic Church, N2921 State Highway 47, Appleton, with Father Charles Brooks officiating. Visitation will be from 9- 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment in St. Edward Cemetery will follow the service. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the doctors and nurses of Appleton Medical Center and also to clergy, family and friends for all of their support and prayers. In lieu of other expressions of sympathy, a memorial fund is being established in Hope's name. When God calls little children to dwell with Him above, We mortals sometimes question the wisdom of His love. For no heartache compares with the death of one small child Who does so much to make our world seem wonderful and mild. Perhaps God tires of calling the aged to His fold. So He picks a rosebud before it can grow old. God knows how much we need them, and so He takes but few To make the land of heaven more beautiful to view. Believing this is difficult still somehow we must try. The saddest word mankind knows will always be goodbye.
