    Kenneth J. Vogt, 83, formerly of Appleton, passed away Feb. 15, 2008, at Riverside Medical Center, Waupaca. He was born June 21, 1924, to the late John and Elsie (Kapitzke) Vogt in the Town of Wolf River, Wis. Ken proudly served our country during World War II in the United States Coast Guard. Ken was a member of the American Legion Post #38 of Appleton. Ken was a mechanic, police officer in Appleton and owned and operated different businesses throughout his life.
    Survivors include his children, John (Maureen 'Moe') Vogt, Appleton; Scott (Pam) Vogt, Appleton; and Laurie (Rob) Sanders, Appleton; sisters, Lois (Gordon) Sommer, Appleton; and Alice (Jerome) Schmidt, Appleton; grandchildren, Tonya (John) Wickesberg, Jeremiah (Michelle) Vogt, Elly Vogt, Kandace, Ben and Luke Sanders; great-grandchildren, Cole Wickesberg, Aiden, Andrew and Anthony Vogt; sister-in-law, Dolores Vogt. He is further survived by numerous nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
    Ken was preceded in death by his parents, wife, Mildred G. Keen-Vogt in January of 2007; daughter-in-law, Paula Vogt; and sisters, Eris Vogt and Bernice Yaeger; brother, Robert; and great-grandsons, Paul and Robert.
    Memorial services for Ken will be held at 7 p.m. Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at the Valley Funeral Home followed by Military Honors performed by the American Legion Post #38, Appleton. Interment will take place in King Veteran's Cemetery. Friends may visit the family at the funeral home Monday from 4 to 7 p.m.
    A memorial fund is being established.

    Yaeger, Bernice C. "BeBe"
    Bernice C. "BeBe" Yaeger, of Menasha, age 80, passed away unexpectedly at her home on Wednesday, May 2, 2007. Bernice was born October 24, 1926, at the Vogt Homestead in Fremont where she spent her childhood. She was a high school graduate of the Winnebago Lutheran Academy in Fond du Lac. BeBe was united in marriage to Arnold W. Yaeger in 1946, and he preceded her in death on January 8, 1964. Prior to her retirement, Bernice was a certified nursing assistant at Parkview Health Center in Oshkosh. BeBe enjoyed reading, working crossword puzzles, knitting slippers for her family and friends, and watching the birds, especially hummingbirds, and squirrels play in her backyard. BeBe was a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister.
    Survivors include her children: David (Susan) Yaeger, Cher (Yaeger) Limle, Randall (Kelli) Yaeger, and Timothy (Pam) Yaeger; her grandchildren: Tammy (Justin) Zastrow, Jessica, Jason, Devin, Vanessa, Tashana, Janika, and James Yaeger; her great-grandchildren: Alison, Ashley, Peyton, and Matthew Zastrow, Erica Nason, Antonio Yaeger, and Kasaiyah Noel; her sisters and brother: Kenneth Vogt, Lois (Gordon) Sommer, and Alice (Jerry) Schmidt. BeBe is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including her "adopted" daughter Camie Sanders, and her pet grandchildren at home, whom she had a special love for, Montana, Miss Dallas, Houston, and Kiki Dee.
    Bernice was preceded in death by her parents, John and Elsie (Kapitzke) Vogt; her husband, Arnold W. Yaeger; her sister, Eris Vogt; her brother, Robert Vogt; her sister-in-law, Millie Vogt; and her great-granddaughter, Alyssa Zastrow.
    Funeral services for Bernice will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, May 7, 2007, at WICHMANN FUNERAL HOME, downtown chapel, with Rev. Judy Deckert officiating. Burial will be in Appleton Highland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Sunday, and again from 9:30 a.m. until the time of services all at the funeral home.
    Mom was a gentle, loving, soft spoken woman who never had a bad word for anyone. She had a wonderful sense of humor that everyone who knew her found it enchanting and very funny. Many were the times that we laughed so hard at things she would come out with.
    Dear Mom,
    It was a privilege and an honor to have you for my Mom, and to take care of you as you took care of me too. I was the lucky one as I had told you so many times because I had you to live with me all those beautiful years. I miss you so much. I will love you until the day I die and beyond. What joy it will be when you come for me. I love you Mom forever, your loving daughter.

    Obituary:
    Alice Mae (Vogt) Schmidt, age 73, went to her heavenly home on Thursday, August 30, 2012 with her family by her side after a battle with lung cancer. Alice was born on January 5, 1939, in Aniwa, Wisconsin, daughter of the late John and Elsie (Kapitzke) Vogt. Alice graduated from Appleton West High School in 1957 and later met and married Jerome "Jerry" Schmidt on June 27, 1959.
    Alice worked briefly as a cashier at two grocery stores and for several years owned and operated Quick Photo. She then retired to care for her husband. In her younger years Alice enjoyed bowling, family reunions, and summer vacations on Shawano Lake. In her later life she enjoyed attending her grandchildren and great grandchildren's sporting and school events and taking them to various places like Bay Beach, the Children's Museum and parades. She also hosted New Year's Eve parties for the children. Alice enjoyed company; her door was always open to family and friends. She enjoyed caring for her two cats Paris and Smokey who were great company for her. Alice was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church in Appleton.
    She is survived by five children: Michael (Julie) Schmidt, Lisa (Kevin) Kasperek, Katie Schmidt, Andrew (Mimi) Schmidt, Karolyn (Alan) Kassoff; nine grandchildren: Sarah (Cory) Schmidt, Chris (Erika) Kasperek, Amy Schmidt, Kurt Schmidt, Elizabeth Stachoviak, Emily Schmidt, Amanda Schmidt, Zak Kassoff, Zoe Kassoff; five great-grandsons: Jaden Schmidt, Sebastian Falk, Payton Schmidt; Jaxson Schmidt, and Austin Harrison, one sister Lois (Gordon) Sommer, two brother-in-laws: Joseph (Dolores) Schmidt, Lawrence Schmidt; four sister-in-laws: Sr. Cabrini Schmidt, Editha Bonneville; Shirley (Delmer) Henning, and Delores Vogt. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends.
    She was preceded in death by her husband Jerry; brothers Kenneth (Millie) Vogt and Robert Vogt; sisters: Eris Vogt and Bernice Yaeger; grandsons: Michael and Daniel Stachoviak; sister-in-laws: Geneva Schmidt and Mary Schmidt; brother-in-laws: Robert Bonneville and Jim Schmidt.
    A funeral service for Alice will be at 11:30 AM, Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at ST. PIUS X CATHOLIC CHURCH, 500 West Marquette St, Appleton with Fr. Thomas J. Farrell officiating. Visitation for Alice will be Tuesday, September 4, 2012 from 4:00 until 7:00 PM at Valley Funeral Home with a prayer service at 6:00 PM. Visitation will continue at church on Wednesday from 10:30 AM until the time of mass. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park, Appleton.
    Alice's family would like to extend a personal thank you to Alice's niece Cher Limle for the friendship, love and care she provided to both Alice and Jerry, and to Bonnie Schuster from Right At Home for her kindness and support. Alice's children are very grateful for all the kind words and support they received from family members and friends during Alice's illness.
