    Sambs, Joseph S.Joseph S. Sambs, Hortonville, age 91, entered eternal life on January 1 3, 2005 at his home. Joseph was born on August 28, 1913 in the Town of Hor tonia son of the late Charles and Mary (Brill) Sambs. He lived on the fami ly farm in Hortonia his entire life. He married Helen Cooney on June 12, 1 940. Together they raised a family of 9 children. Joe farmed with his brot her Carl for many years where they raised registered Landrace hogs and Hol steins. He farmed along side his son Kevin the last 20 years, doing chore s, including milking daily until this spring. He loved to hunt and fish a nd especially enjoyed his fishing trips to Canada. He truly enjoyed eve ry aspect of the outdoors and looked forward to the different hunting seas ons and the camaraderie of the hunt.Joseph is survived by his wife Helen; nine children: Judy (Chuck) Riese, O shkosh; Charles (Judy) Sambs, Hudson; Daniel (Carol) Sambs, Fremont; Sr Jo ann Sambs, Fond du Lac; Greg (Arlette) Sambs, Fort Atkinson; Janice (Davi d) Flenz, Appleton; Mary (Mike) Riha, Coon Rapids, Minnesota; Barb Reari ck (Monjeet Singh), Appleton; Kevin (Jane) Sambs, Hortonville; seventeen g randchildren: Chuck and Paul Riese, Roxanne Whismann, Brian, Jeff, Jay, Jo n, Joey, Jesse, Tim, Casey, Katie and Kelsey Sambs; Julie Flenz, Erin a nd Christopher Riha and Ben Rearick; seven great grandchildren: Jon, Scot t, Morgan, Macey, Kaylee, David and Danielle and one great great grandchi ld Destiny. Sister in-laws: Eleanor Cooney and Dorothy Rohan; brother in-l aw Wesley Martin and also nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.He is preceded in death by his parents, father and mother in-law William a nd Anna Cooney; two brothers: Carl and Francis Sambs; four sisters: Armel la Bernegger, Margaret Sambs, Myrtle Bernegger and Helen Martin.Funeral services will be held on Monday January 17, 2005 at 11:00 AM at S t. Peter & Paul Catholic Church in Hortonville with Rev. Msgr. James Feel ey officiating. Burial will be in the St. Peter and Paul Parish Cemeter y. Friends may call at the Borchardt & Moder Funeral Home in Hortonvil le on Sunday, January 16, 2005 from 4-8 PM. A prayer service will be he ld at 7:30 PM on Sunday evening. Friends may also call at the church on Mo nday from 9:30 AM until the time of service. In lieu of flowers a memori al fund has been established.I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the fa ith. Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lo rd, the righteous Judge, will award to me.
