    Obituary:
Franklin C. Haffeman, 87, of Oshkosh, WI, passed away Monday surrounded by his family. Frank was born December 10, 1921, in Wausau, WI, to Elsie (Borchardt) and Frank W. Haffeman. Frank married Lorraine Hammerseng, September 28, 1946. Lorraine preceded Franklin in death on March 21, 2000.
Franklin was a World War II veteran, served in the South Pacific Pearl Harbor and was awarded a Bronze Star. Frank also served as a 1st Sergeant Company H., 127th infantry, 32nd division with the Wisconsin National Guard for 15 years. Frank was a member of the Operating Engineers Union #139 for over 50 years and was recently awarded a lifetime membership award for his dedication.
Frank was a crane operator by trade for C.R. Meyer & Sons from 1947 through 1984. He had many good memories of his buddies out at "The Yard". His stories were often heard while shooting pool and tipping one or two at the "Penny Bar" or "Charlie's Glass Bar".
Frank had a zest for life and taught his six children the same. You never know what tomorrow may bring, so live for today! Through the years, Frank enjoyed bowling, shooting pool, hunting, watching the Green Bay Packers and wood working. Many of his wood pieces adorn the homes of his children and friends.
Frank is survived by two of his sisters: Doris Albee and Lila Apell, both of Oshkosh. Frank is survived by his six children: Sandie Roebke (Jeff Brunette), Susan White Lang, Gary (Tina) Haffeman, Mark Haffeman (Holly Muggenthaler), Peggy (Dick) Forseth and Nancy (Steve) Haffeman-Bertz; grandchildren, Paul Roebke, Kim Hamer Schelfhout, Hadley Haffeman Burger, Ainsley Herson, Brandon Haffeman Bertz, Franklin Forseth, David Forseth; and four great-grandchildren: Peter Edge, Max and Ellie Burger, Joely Schelfhout.
Franklin was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine; his mother and father Frank W. and Elsie Haffeman; his brother, Norman Haffeman; sisters: Viola O'Neal, Frances Neitzke; two sons-in-law: Lester White, Michael Lang; along with many in-laws and friends that he cherished dearly.
Services will be held Thursday, April 30th, at Konrad Behlman Funeral Home-Westside on Witzel Ave. in Oshkosh. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. - 12 p.m., service at 12 p.m. followed by a Military Burial at Lake View Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family has established a memorial in Frank's name.
