    Lucille A. Carpenter, age 84 years, of Appleton (formerly of Clintonville), passed away Monday, May 21, 2007, at her residence surrounded by her family.
    The former Lucille Ann Lechterman was born June 20, 1922, in Gresham to the late Anton and Mathilda (Hoffman) Lechterman. She was united in marriage on April 3, 1948, to Raymond M. Carpenter at St. Francis Church, Gresham. The couple resided in Appleton for many years where Lucille was employed at Fox River Knitting, later known as Zwicker Knitting, then at the student union at St. Lawrence University, and finally as a store clerk with SS Kresge Co. The couple retired in 1980 and moved to Pella. In 1987, they settled in Clintonville and her husband died on April 26, 1988. She moved to Appleton in 2005. Lucille was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Leopolis, where she served as a Lector and a Communion Distributor for many years. She was also an active member of St. Mary PCCW and is a former Treasurer.
    Survivors include five children: Anthony (Kathy) Carpenter of Stevens Point, Sr. Kathryn Carpenter of Walsenburg, CO, Judy (Bill) Hopfensperger of Appleton, Randy (Joni) Carpenter of Colorado Springs, CO, and Connie (Terry) Romenesko of Neenah. There are ten grandchildren; Sara (Shawn) Savka, Kristi (Eric) Ahrens, Matt Carpenter, Luke (Shari) Carpenter, Will (Jenni) Hopfensperger, Andy (Sheri) Hopfensperger, Amy Hopfensperger, Beckie (Chad) Bresser, Tyler & Brady Romenesko. There are eleven great-grandchildren; Ruth Savka, Ethan, Owen & Autumn Ahrens, Luke Jr. & Samuel Carpenter, Chance & Sawyer Hopfensperger, Adilynn Hopfensperger, Hailee & Hanna Bresser. Further survived by; a brother, Louis (Delores) Lechterman of Tilleda, a sister, Joann (Roger) Korth of Shawano, a sister-in-law, Maxine Carpenter of Clintonville, nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond, four sisters: Mildred Strelow, Clara Pranke, Margaret Jeske and Frances Vorpahl, and two brothers, Rudy & Lawrence Lechterman.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, May 25, 2007, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Mary Catholic Church, Leopolis. Fr. Harry Hafeman will officiate and burial will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call on Thursday, from 4-7 p.m. at the Beil-Didier Funeral Home, Clintonville, and on Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of mass at the church.
