    Marlin V. Blondey, 79, New London, died on June 6, 2009, following a lengthy battle with cancer at St. Joseph Residence in New London. Marlin was born on June 3, 1930, in New London, son of the late Verne and Gertrude (Fiestadt) Blondey. He was a graduate of the Washington Senior High, New London. On Nov. 15, 1969, he was united in marriage to Dorothy Reinart in Rockford, Ill. Marlin was employed for many years at Hillshire Farms. He raised veal and drove a school bus for more than 17 years. He was also a custodian at Emanuel Lutheran School. Marlin served his country in the U.S. Army, during the Korean Conflict and was also a member of the American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, gardening, watching the Packers and most of all, he enjoyed his family and traveling with his wife.
    He is survived by his wife, Dorothy; daughters, Teri (Ken) Christian, Hortonville; Cindy (Steve) Ottone, Appleton; sons, Peter (Jayne) Fitzmaurice, Appleton; Jim Blondey, Appleton; and Guy Blondey, West Bend; a sister, Gail (Robert) Crain, New London; seven grandchildren, Tom, Tim, Shawn, Trevor, Angie, Jenny and Steve; three great-grandchildren, Sophie, John and Claire. He is further survived by other relatives and friends.
    Besides his parents, Marlin is preceded in death by a sister, June Meydam.
    Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Cline & Hanson Funeral Home in New London, and also at the church on Wednesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.Funeral Services for Marlin will be held on Wednesday, June 10, 2009, at 11 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church in New London, with Rev. William Heiges officiating. Interment will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Military Graveside Rites will be held. A luncheon will follow the interment at the church.
    A memorial fund has been established.
