Joan Marie Hanus, age 67, died peacefully on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton.
Joan was born November 16, 1944 in Freedom, Wisconsin daughter of the late Fred and Rosetta (Koske) Kroening. She was a loving and faithful wife, mother, grandmother and foster grandmother. She was united in marriage on April 23, 1966 to Randall Hanus in Shawano, Wisconsin at St James Lutheran Church. She was formerly employed with Thrivent for over twenty years, and volunteered at Freedom Grade School and Bethesda. Joan was always leading a hand to those in need. Most important to Joan, was being a faithful grandmother, by attending her granddaughter Taylor's school activities and sporting events and being a loving and caring foster grandmother.
Joan is lovingly survived by her husband, Randy of 45 years; two sons, Dave Hanus (Karen Kemp), DePere; Brian (Jen) Hanus, Greenville; her granddaughter, Taylor Hanus; a brother, Thomas Kroening, a nephew, Jeff Kroening, both of Shawano; and her beautiful foster grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister-in-law, Delores Kroening.
The funeral service will be held 11 AM Saturday, February 18, 2012 at FAITH LUTHERAN CHURCH, 601 E. Glendale Ave., Appleton with Rev. Daniel Thews officiating.
