    Obituary:
    Wayne J. Gmeiner Sr., 68, of Niagara, Wisconsin, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 25th, 2012, at his home with his wife at his side.
    He was born March 23, 1944 in Appleton, Wisconsin, son of the late Sylvia (Lietz) Michaelis and Frank Gmeiner. Wayne married Patti Lane on February 9, 1999.
    Wayne was employed by Giddings and Lewis as a Service Technician. After his retirement, Wayne enjoyed planting flowers, vegetables, and fruit trees and doing his own canning and preserving. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman; he loved fishing, bird watching, and all parts of nature. He especially enjoyed sharing these experiences with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He valued all that was pure and simple in life. He was devoted to his faith in God and lived his life accordingly.
    Wayne is survived by his wife Patti Gmeiner (nee' Lane), Niagara; two sons, Wayne J. Gmeiner Jr. (Robin), Palm Harbor, FL, and Ben (Rachel) Stevens, Appleton; four daughters, Michele (Jim) Isaacson, Sauk City, WI, Tanya (Lawrence) Dear, Niagara, Heather (Jeremy) Maass, Menasha, and Susan (Huy) Luu, Appleton; He is further survived by his ten grandchildren, Manny, Natasha, Dylan, Maya, Abby, Ellie, Tyler, Annika, Anna, and Corryn; and a brother, Dennis Michaelis, Appleton. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Ron Lietz and James Gmeiner.
    A celebration of Wayne's life will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 29, 2012 at Fox Valley Unitarian Universalist Fellowship, 2600 Philip Lane, Appleton, with Rev. Leah Hart-Landsberg officiating. Visitation will be at the Fellowship on Saturday beginning at 1:00 PM until the time of service. Burial will be at Highland Memorial Park.
