    Friday, June 7, 1918. AGED MAN GONE. John Passehl died last week Sunday, aged 81 years. He was a pioneer in the Bear Creek country and was of the men who made a fruitful field of the dense forest, and blazed the way through hardship and hard work, with dauntless energy, for our present advance state of culture. He was born in Mecklenberg, Germandy, and came to American as a young man. He settled at Dale. Later he moved to Bear Creek, where he lived for 45 years. He was married 3 times, his last wife dying 12 years ago. He has for some years made his home with his son Herman, on the old homestead. He left 2 sons Fred and Herman; and 1 daughter, Mrs. Gust Pranke; 26 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren.

    John married Bobzin, Fredericke Johanna Abt 1898, Clintonville, Waupaca, Wisconsin, USA. Fredericke was born 18 Oct 1838; died 23 Mar 1906; was buried , Graceland Cemetery, Clintonville, Wisconsin, USA. [Group Sheet]
