Obituary:
Donna Mae (Thyssen) Conrad (1938-2012), died peacefully on May 9, 2012. She was born in Appleton, to George and Harriet Thyssen. She was preceded in death by her infant twin sister, Mary. Donna is survived by her daughter, Mary (Matthew) Horton; grandchildren, Sage, Ella, Calla, and Ethan; brother, Ronald (Dutch) Thyssen; and sisters, Sally (Bob) Plath, Patricia (Dan) Huss, Marjorie (David) Mau. She had a bachelors degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
Donna lived in Baileys Harbor, where she worked at the Blacksmith Inn. She was a member of the Sister Bay Moravian Church. Donna enjoyed gardening, knitting, reading, and spending time in the outdoors. She was an avid follower of current events and world affairs. The simple and peaceful life she led was a model for all those who were close to her. Donna was a loving mother and grandmother. She will be dearly missed by her family and many friends.
Memorial Service will be held at the Sister Bay Moravian Church, Friday May 11, at noon. Visitation will be at the church beginning at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to Heifer International (www.heifer.org), a non-profit organization whose mission Donna supported.
