John H. Helein, "Jack ", 26 George St., KaukaunaAge 70, died Thursday October 24, 1996 at Colony Oaks Care Center, followi ng a short duration of Cancer. He was born July 11, 1926 in Kaukauna, t he son of the late Leonard N. and Adriana (Jansen) Helein. Jack was born a nd raised in Kaukauna and attended Kaukauna High School. He served with t he U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed at Kimberly Clark up un til his retirement in 1987. As a hobby he enjoyed raising and racing pige ons, auto races, hunting, fishing and gambling. Jack enjoyed eati ng at is favorite restaurants. He served as deputy sheriff for Outagam ie County for 28 years. He was a member of Local 482 of the United Paperw orkers International Union and the Valley Pigeon Club. He is surviv ed by a daughter and son-in-law from his first wife: Debra M. and Mark Joh nson, Kaukauna; four other children and their spouses: James W. and Donet ta Helein, Willamina, Oregon; Steven L. and Cindy Helein, Neenah; Cher yl L. Helein, College Place, Washington; John M. Helein, Chilton and the ir mother, Rita Mae (Frank) McPherson, College Place, Washington; nine gra ndchildren: Michelle, Jason, Jackie, Nicole, Rachel, Amy, Quinn, Taryn, Br ieann; a sister, Donna M. Helein, Kaukauna. He was preceded in death by h is first wife, Shirley E. Helein. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monda y, October 28, 1996 at the Fargo Funeral Home, Kaukauna with Father Dave H offman officiating. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery. Friends may c all at the Fargo Funeral Home, 400 W. Wisconsin Ave., Kaukauna from 5 unt il 8 p.m. Sunday and after 8 a.m. Monday until the time of service. A mem orial fund has been established in his name.

John married Unknown, Shirley E. Aft 1944. Shirley was born Abt 1928; died Abt 1957; was buried Abt 1957, Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery, Kaukauna, Wisconsin, USA. [Group Sheet]
