Obituary:
Alvina "Boots" Piette, age 82, of Appleton, passed away Tuesday, November 2, 2010, at Cherry Meadows. She was born on September 16, 1928, in Neenah; daughter of the late Edward and Alvina (Blair) Hartzheim. On May 29, 1948, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah, she was married to Roland Piette.
Devoted wife and mother, she will be deeply missed by her husband, Roland; her children: Jim (Jean) Piette, Appleton; Lynn (Don) Freimuth, Appleton; and Becky (Jim) Heegeman, Waupaca; grandchildren, Dave (Patie) Freimuth, Carrie (Steve) Kissel, Dan Managan, Greg Piette and Kristy (Kyle) Maass; great-grandchildren, Kayla, Ethan, Emily, Thompson and Melina; three sisters, two brothers and by many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Tom Freimuth; two sisters and two brothers.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Friday, November 5, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 1617 W. Pine St., Appleton, with Fr. Dennis Ryan officiating. Family and friends may visit at Valley Funeral Home on Thursday from 4 - 7 p.m. and again at the church on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the mass. A prayer service will be held on Thursday at the funeral home at 7 p.m. Entombment will take place in Highland Memorial Park, Appleton. A memorial fund is being established in her name.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the staffs of St. Bernard Catholic Church and Cherry Meadows for their wonderful care and concern and for the loving support of her many family and friends.
