    Hartzheim, Veronica M. "Vonni e"Veronica M. "Vonnie" Hartzheim, age 82, of Kaukauna, died Thursday, May 2 7, 2004 with her family by her side at Theda Clark Medical Center. Vonn ie was born March 22, 1922 to the late Ernest and Minnie (Kronser) Kroeg er in Stephensville, WI. She graduated from Hortonville H.S. in 1940 and w orked as a waitress at the Cardinal Lodge in Woodruff, WI in the summer mo nths and in Florida during the winter months. She married Vincent Hartzhe im on September 10, 1946; he preceded her in death on February 17, 2004. V onnie and Vince purchased the Dutch Grill in 1948 and operated it until th ey moved it to a new location in 1960 and changed the name to The Grill. V onnie and her family ran The Grill until they closed it in 1981. She enjoy ed card playing and telling a good joke. Vonnie loved her children, grandc hildren and great grandchildren and cherished the time she spent with them .She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, the Elks and the Kaukauna Ho spital Auxiliary.She is survived by four daughters: Sharon Jansen and special friend Lar ry Franzke, and her children, Tracy (John) Urban and Troy (Carrie) Janse n, Barbara Mathis and her children Michelle (Bob) Kobussen and Mark (Cam i) Mathis, Donna Van Schyndel and her three children, Brad (Kristin) Van S chyndel, Ryan Van Schyndel and Kristi Van Schyndel and Vicki (Tom) Driess en and their children Matt, Nick, and Ben Driessen; seven great-grandchild ren: Tyler Schmidt and Chloee Urban, Joshua Kobussen, Jacob and Derek Math is and Lauren and Quinn Van Schyndel. She will also be missed by three sis ters: Ruth Meehl, Rosie Mattke and Margie Schepp; and a brother Ernie Kroe ger; six sisters-in-law: Beatrice Ashauer, Bernice Coenen, Mabel Kohl, Ger trude Raymaker, Nellie Kroeger and Rose Kroeger; three brothers-in-law: Ma rvin (Jenny) Hartzheim, John VanRossum and Lester (Virginia) Hartzheim; a nd her special friend, Laverne Goetzman.Her parents; her husband, Vincent; two sons, Allen and Craig Hartzheim; fo ur sisters: Marie Mulroy, Martha Kroeger, Josephine Kroeger and Adeline Jo hnson; two brothers, Floyd (Dorothy) Kroeger and Henry Kroeger; and numero us brothers and sisters-in-law preceded her in death.The funeral service will be 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1, at ST. MARY of t he ANNUNCIATION CATHOLIC CHURCH, 119 West Seventh Street Kaukauna with F r. Robert A. Udulutsch, OFM Cap. officiating. Friends will be receiv ed on Tuesday at Church from 3 p.m. until the time of service. Burial wi ll take place at St. Mary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial is bei ng established.     Obituary:
    Barbara Lee Mathis Kaukauna Age 65, passed away on June 20, 2014 at St. Paul Home in Kaukauna. She was born on July 25, 1948 in Appleton, the second daughter of the late Vincent and Veronica (Kroeger) Hartzheim. Barb worked as a waitress at her parents restaurant, "The Grill". She was a graduate of Kaukauna High School, class of 1966. She then went on to nursing school at "The Cradle" in Evanston, IL. She worked in the art field for many years until her health issues prevented her from doing so. Barb was a fun, loving person that always had a smile on her face and enjoyed joking around with people. She will be dearly missed. Barb's passion in life were her grandchildren and she always had pictures with her to show to whoever she might run into. She enjoyed her many craft projects that kept her busy. She always looked forward to playing scrabble and enjoyed life by spending it with her many different groups of friends.
    Barbara is survived by her daughter: Michelle (Robert) Kobussen and their children: Joshua and Ashlyn of Kaukauna; her son: Mark (Camella) Mathis and their children: Jacob and Derek of Mississippi; sisters: Sharon Jansen (special friend Larry Frankze), Donna Van Schyndel (special friend Steve Krohlow), Vicki (Tom) Dreissen, numerous nieces and nephews, many great nieces and nephews, her best friend Mary Huss, her "adopted mother" LaVerne Goetzman, special friends Pat Van Linn and Pauline Krueger, her card club gang, several treasured friends from high school, and her many friends she had made during her working days. Preceding her in death were her parents, brothers Allen and Craig Hartzheim, and special friends Gail Balthazor and Joni Heilman.
    The Mass of Christian Burial for Barbara will be held at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at ST. KATHARINE DREXEL PARISH @ ST. ALOYSIUS CHURCH, 2401 Main Av., Kaukauna with Fr. Jerry Pastors celebrating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends may call directly at the church on Tuesday from 3:00 PM until the time of the mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Barbara's name is being established.
    A special thank you to all the staff at St. Paul Elder Services and Villa for all their care and help through the past few years as it is greatly appreciated.
