    Obituary:
    Gilbert Nielsen, 85, of Neenah, died Wednesday, May 14, 2008, at St. Francis Hospital, Shakopee, Minnesota. He was born October 9, 1922, in Neenah, son of Edward and Esther (Loehning) Nielsen. Gib married Ara Wedewort, November 14, 1944, in Waco, Texas, and she preceded him in death August 5, 1977. He was self-employed, being the owner and operator of Home Lumber & Millwork in Neenah. He then became involved in real estate and land development.
    He was a member of St. Gabriel Catholic Church, Neenah. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran of World War II, was a fighter pilot and was a member of the 82nd Fighter Group. Gib was a member of the EAA. He was an avid golfer and was a member of a Bridgewood golf league.
    Mr. Nielsen is survived by his sons: Dan Nielsen, Neenah, and Mike (Patti) Nielsen, Burnsville, MN; five grandchildren: Christoffer (Courtney) and Matthew Nielsen, Sara, John and Mike; several great-grandchildren, including Alexis Nielsen.
    Gilbert was also preceded in death by his parents and a daughter Susan Jandourek.
    Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 17, 2008, at St. Gabriel Church with Rev. William Kuhr officiating. Military honors will be performed by members of the William Verhagen American Legion Post #60, Kimberly, following the mass. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Friends may call at the church from 9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of the mass. A memorial has been established.
    He was dearly loved and his wife and family were most important in his life.
    The family wishes to express a special thank you to Gib's very kind neighbors for their kindness, friendship and support.

    Obituary:
    Daniel G. Nielsen, 68, Neenah, passed away on Tuesday, September 19, 2017, at ThedaCare Medical Center, Neenah. He was born on July 19, 1949, in Florida, the son of Gilbert "Gib"and Ara (Wedewort) Nielsen. Dan was a very gifted carpenter, who owned and operated Dan's Home Exterior's. Daniel was a simple man, but also a deep thinker, and very spiritual person. He will be remembered most fondly for his kindhearted nature.
    Daniel is survived by a brother: Michael (Patti) Nielsen; brother-in-law: Tom Jandourek; a niece: Sara (Mark) Koehn; nephews: John and Mike (Angie) Jandourek, and Chris (Courtney) Nielsen; 9 great nieces and nephews: Stephanie, Mark Jr., Emily, Elizabeth, and Katie Koehn, and Alexis, Harper, Maelyn, and Van Nielsen; as well as many other relatives and numerous friends.
    Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; a sister: Susan Jandourek; and a nephew: Matt Nielsen.
    Funeral services will be held at 6:00 pm, Monday, September 25, 2017, at the Kessler Funeral Home, 304 S. Commercial St., Neenah, with Fr. Richard Allen officiating. Interment will be in Oak Hill Cemetery, Neenah. Visitation will be Monday at the funeral home from 4:00 pm until the time of the service. Immediately following the service, full military honors will be presented by Active Duty Members of the US Army and the Neenah-Menasha Funeral Honors Team. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established.
    Dan's family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you the dedicated staff at ThedaCare Medical Center, Neenah, Fr. Allen, and Fr. William Kuhr, and all the those who offered prayers, kindness and compassion.
