He graduated from Freedom High School and attended St. Norbert College for three years. Bob married his high school sweetheart, June Behling.
In 1941, Bob and June moved to Oneida, where they owned and operated Appleton's Service and Repair and June's Drive-In. In 1968, they moved to Tucson, Ariz., for Bob's health. There they owned and operated The Lazy A Mobile Home Park until June's death in 1976.
Bob married Kay Vissers in 1976. She preceded him in death in 1998.
Bob followed the sun. He loved winters in Arizona with Bobby and Lynda. When he returned to Wisconsin, he looked forward to fishing at the LacDaLune or The Bay of Green Bay with Kathy, Duane, Woody and Rob. Bob loved to play cards and cribbage was his game.
To Bob, the month of June meant strawberries and October meant wild grapes. He loved berry picking with Mary Claire. Bob never met a stranger. He truly enjoyed visiting and socializing with people. He was a devout Catholic and had a particular love for the prayers of the Rosary.
He is survived by his daughter, Mary Claire (George) Brucks; son, Francis Robert "Bob" (Lynda) Appleton; and daughter Catherine "Kathy" (Duane) Reha; grandchildren, Kelly J.
