    Gerald E. "Chick" Geenen Jr, 74, of Freedom, died Sunday, August 4, 2013. He was born in Green Bay, November 14, 1938, son of the late Gerald and Johanna (Murphy) Geenen. Jerry married Patricia Brumm- Abel on June 21, 1974.
    Jerry served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of St. Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom. Jerry worked for many years for Geenen Brothers & Sons Livestock. He was an avid deer hunter. He enjoyed bowling in his younger years, fishing, and watching sports on TV.
    Jerry is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Patricia, Freedom; two daughters, , DeAnn "DeDe" Kater, (special friend, Neil Rentmeester), Chilton, and Debbie (Steve) Reiter, Freedom; son, Daniel Abel (special friend, Barb Meinert), Freedom; eight grandchildren, Adam VandenBogart, Craig Reiter, Heather Reiter, Danielle Abel, Daisha Abel, Dakota Abel, Colton Kater, and Mitchell Kater; four sisters, Darlene (Lyle) Swinkles, Freedom, Jo Ann (Michael) Vandenberg, Freedom, Rose Beyer, Freedom, and Judy (Baptist) Stevens, Green Bay; two brothers, Pat (Patty) Geenen, and Michael (Karen) Geenen, Freedom; two brothers-in-law, William (Liz) Brumm, and Robert Brumm; his special four legged friends, Brody and Oreo; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was further preceded in death by a niece, Patricia; six nephews, Todd, Greg, Joey, Scott, Rod, and Peter; father and mother in-law, Joseph and Vivian Brumm; and a sister-in-law, Carol Brumm.
    Mass of Christian Burial will be 4:00PM on Wednesday, August 7, 2013, at ST. NICHOLAS CATHOLIC CHURCH, W2027 Cty Rd S, Freedom, with Fr. Dan Felton officiating. Visitation will be at the church on Wednesday from 1:00PM until the hour of service. Military honors will follow at the church. Inurnment will be at St. Nicholas Catholic Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established.
    Jerry's family would like to thank St. Elizabeth Hospital ICU, 2nd and 4th floor staff's, for all their care and compassion.

    Rod Geenen, 44, Seymour, loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend, died as a result of an automobile accident on May 1, 2010. He was born on Feb. 12, 1966, to Pat and Patty (Beyer) Geenen in the Town of Freedom.
    Rod was a dedicated father and truly enjoyed the time that he spent with his children, Austin and Madison. He lived life to the fullest and was always the laugh and life of the party. Rod enjoyed coaching sports and was an avid sports fan. His life on Earth was way too short, but he touched the lives of many.
    Rod is survived by his two wonderful children, Austin and Madison; their mother, Jody Calmes; loving parents, Pat and Patty Geenen; brother, Bob (Terrie) Geenen; sister, Jill (Lance) Vandenberg; and grandparents, Russ and Helen Beyer. Rod was a fun and loving uncle to goddaughter Bailee, Bryce and Brooke. He also had several special aunts, uncles and cousins that will truly miss him. Rod had close friends that were like family that he enjoyed and had many laughs with.
    Rod was preceded in death by his brother, Greg; cousins, Joe and Scott; and grandparents, Gerald and Sis Geenen.
    Friends may call at Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, on Tuesday, May 4, 2010, from 4 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service concluding the evening. Visitation will continue at St Nicholas Catholic Church, Freedom, on Wednesday, May 5, 2010, from 10 a.m. until services at 12 noon with Father Dave Hoffman. Burial in the parish cemetery.
    Muehl-Boettcher Funeral Home, Seymour, is assisting the family. Online condolences may be expressed at www.muehlboettcher. com.
    The family would like to sincerely thank family and friends for all the care and concern.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established for Austin and Madison.
    To a son who we were so proud of, to a brother who always took care of your siblings, to a dad who always put his kids first and to a friend who always made us laugh, we will truly miss you.
