    Obituary:
    Brian Nackers, age 34, of Appleton, was greeted at the Gates of Heaven by his grandma and grandpa Vander Heyden and grandma and grandpa Nackers, along with his cousin Ben Schmeltzer on Saturday, May 24, 2014. He was born on July 21, 1979, in Appleton, the son of William "Bill" and Mary Ellyn (Vander Heyden) Nackers. Brian graduated from Kimberly High School in 1997 followed by an Associate Degree in Marketing in 2000 from Fox Valley Technical College. He was a past member of the Fox Cities Spina Bifida Association. Brian was a statistician for the Kimberly High School Basketball Team. He volunteered for the Disabled American Veteran van program at John H. Bradley VA Outpatient Clinic and Paper Discovery. Brian was the proud recipient of the President's "Call to Service" Award in 2012 and a Make-A-Wish Foundation Recipient. He had completed a 5K during one summer and then a 10K the next year, along with being a regular camper at Camp Ability in Lake Forest, Illinois. Brian was an avid Packer fan and looked forward to the annual vacation to Branson, Missouri, where he met and became a friend to many performers and their families. His family meant the world to him and he loved doing ANY and ALL activities with his brother Tom and his family.
    Brian is survived by his loving parents Mary and Bill Nackers; his amazing brother Thomas W. (Kerry) Nackers of Hubertus; nieces Taylor Nichole and Kendall Lauren Nackers; aunts and uncles: Judy Vander Heyden of Appleton, Rev. William Vander Heyden of Sarasota, Florida, Phyllis (Jim) Leitermann of Kimberly, Bonnie (Gary) Simonsen of Mountain, Gene (Julie) Nackers of Neenah, Denny (Diane) Nackers of Neenah, LuAnn (Gary) Schmeltzer of Appleton, Gary (Vicki) Nackers of Hunterville, Indiana, and Jeff (Lori) Nackers of Sherwood; along with numerous cousins and friends.
    The funeral liturgy for Brian will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, May 31, 2014 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, 222 E. Fremont Street in Appleton. Fr. Bill Vander Heyden will be officiating. Interment will take place at St. John Catholic Cemetery on Valley Road in the Town of Menasha. A time of visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:00 am until 10:45 am. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established. Online condolences can be offered at www.wichmannfargo.com.
    A special thank you to all of you who were so involved in Brian's life, the Doctors and staff of Froedtert Hospital, Milwaukee, especially Wound Care Specialist Janice Erbe; the staff of Appleton Medical Center, as well as all of Brian's previous hospitals, Out-patient Clinics, and local Home Care Providers.
    Brian, you were the bravest of all. You were loved so dearly during your time on earth, only to be surpassed by those above. Know we wait for the time to be together again.
