    Joan A. Haen, (nee Baeten), Oshkosh formerly of Fond du Lac and Kaukauna, age 84, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Park View Health Center, Oshkosh with her loving family by her side. The Mass of Christian Burial for Joan will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at ST. RAPHAEL the ARCHANGEL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 830 S. Westhaven Ave., Oshkosh with Fr. Michael Warden officiating. Friends may call on Monday, April 21, 2014 at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service concluding the evening. Friends may call again on Tuesday directly at church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. A full obituary will appear in Sunday's paper. 766-2099

    Joan A. Haen, (nee Baeten), Oshkosh formerly of Fond du Lac and Kaukauna, age 84, died peacefully on Tuesday, April 15, 2014 at Park View Health Center, Oshkosh with her loving family by her side. She was born October 12, 1929, daughter of the late Christian and Viola (Hockers) Baeten. On May 1, 1951 Joan married Kenneth Haen in West DePere and the couple enjoyed 59 years of marriage together prior to his death on December 13, 2010. Joan enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, and fishing. She assisted Ken at the Star Orchard, which he owned with his two brothers. Joan enjoyed volunteering in the various communities they lived in.
    Joan is survived by her children: Steven (Donna) Haen, Kaukauna, Susan (Paul) Behnke, Oshkosh, James (Cyndy) Haen, Wausau, Jeffrey (Carla) Haen, Oshkosh, Peter (Deanna) Haen, Oakfield; 12 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; 1 great-grandchild on the way; 2 sisters, 1 brother, 3 brothers-in-law and 1 sister-in-law: Doris (Dick) Thomas, Wisconsin Rapids, Barb (Dave) Reinbold, Manitowoc, Ralph (Virginia) Baeten, Green Bay, and Gene Brown, Boston, MA. She is further survived by her husband's family, 1 brother-in-law and 3 sisters-in-law: Sr. Ann Joachim Haen, Manitowoc, Ivo (Carol) Haen, Kaukauna and Bernice Haen, Hollandtown; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
    She is preceded in death by her husband, Ken in 2010, a son Richard in 1973, 2 brothers: Ralph Baeten and Fr. David Baeten; and a sister, Virginia Brown. She was further preceded in death by her husband's family: mother and father-in-law, Henry and Gertrude (Bruecker) Haen, Ray Haen, Jerome (Mertie) Haen, Eugene Haen, Sr. St. Barbara Haen, and Marcella (Earl) Fink.
    The Mass of Christian Burial for Joan will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at ST. RAPHAEL the ARCHANGEL CATHOLIC CHURCH, 830 S. Westhaven Ave., Oshkosh with Fr. Michael Warden officiating. Friends may call on Monday, April 21, 2014 at BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service concluding the evening.     Father David R. Baeten, 74, Bellevue, died unexpectedly Saturday afternoon, Nov. 27, 2010, at his home. The son of the late Christian G. and Viola M. (Hockers) Baeten was born March 11, 1936, in Green Bay. He graduated from St. Norbert High School in De Pere, St. Francis Minor and Major Seminary in Milwaukee. His uncle, Father Dominic Hockers, O. Praem., was a powerful influence in his life and Dave was ordained to the Priesthood on June 9, 1962, at St. Francis Xavier Cathedral in Green Bay, by Bishop Stanislaus V. Bona.

    Father Baeten's Ministerial Appointments include 1962, Assistant, St. Joseph Marinette; 1965, Chaplain-Mercy Medical Center, Oshkosh; 1965, Chaplain of Oshkosh of the Diocesan Council of Catholic Nurses; 1967, Chaplain of the Civil Air Patrol, Oshkosh; 1970, Diocese of Green Bay Director for Hospitals in the Green Bay Diocese; 1972, appointed Executive Director, National Association of Catholic Chaplains; 1976, Coordinator and Director of Pastoral Services of St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay; 1978, Pastor of St. Mary Parish, Oshkosh; 1981, Episcopal Vicar of Vicariate X; 1982, Temporary Administrator, St. Raphael the Archangel Parish, Oshkosh, while remaining Pastor of St. Mary Parish, Oshkosh; 1982, Member of the Permanent Deaconate Board for a two year term; 1988, Pastor of St. Margaret Mary Parish, Neenah; 1994, Pastor of St. Matthew Parish, Green Bay; also in 1994, Presbyteral Council for three year term; 1995, appointed to College of Consulates for a five year term; also in 1995, member of Administrative Council of the McCormick Home; 2002, retired as Pastor of St. Matthew Parish, Green Bay; 2004, Sacramental Chaplain, St. Vincent Hospital. Fr. Dave was presently a resident and Sacramental Chaplain of Bellevue Retirement Home.
    Survivors include his siblings, Joan and Ken Haen, Kaukauna; Doris and Richard Thomas, Wisconsin Rapids; Barbara and David Reinbold, Manitowoc; Ralph G. and Virginia Baeten, Green Bay; Virginia and Eugene Brown, Boston, Mass.; as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins.
    He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Ralph C.
    Reception of the Body by Fr. Larry Seidl, Pastor, will be held on Wednesday, Dec. 1, 2010, at 3 p.m. at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 130 St. Matthews Street, Green Bay, followed by visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. at the church. Parish prayer service will be held at 7 p.m., led by Ann Froelich, Pastoral Associate. Visitation will continue at the church from 9 a.m. Thursday until the time of service. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at the church with Bishop David L. Ricken officiating with Fr. Larry Seidl, Fr. Robert Fictum and priests of the Diocese of Green Bay, concelebrating. Burial will be held in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, De Pere.
