    Obituary:
Bernice Selma Martha Neumann, 96, was called to her heavenly home on December 31, 2015, at Brewster Village in Appleton. She was born on September 4, 1919 to the late Fred and Anna (Techlin) Wagner in the Town of Center, Wisconsin. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith at St. John Ev. Lutheran Church, in the Town of Center. On June 17, 1939, she married Walter H. Neumann, enjoying 40 years together until his death in 1979. They were blessed with five children.
Bernice enjoyed doing volunteer work in several capacities in her lifetime. Among them were serving on the Altar Guild of St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, where she had been a member for 75 years, the Ladies Guild and Apple Peelers of Fox Valley Lutheran High School, and as a driver and treasurer for FISH for 26 years.
She was employed by Valley Packaging Industries as a security person for 25 years.
In her earlier years, Bernice enjoyed attending her family members' sporting events. She spent many hours watching the Brewers and Packers as well. Growing violets was a special talent of hers. Her recipe for Spanish Hamburger was a family favorite-no one made it quite like Mom! As her mobility declined, television was a great pastime for her; especially watching The Young and the Restless daily, right up until her last days.
Bernice is survived by her children: Donna Olson, Ralph (Jo-Ann) Neumann, Dennis (Kristine) Neumann, and Debra (Patrick) Jacklin, all of the Appleton area. There are 12 surviving grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Ruth Rodencal and her husband, Marvin, also survive.
Besides her parents and husband, Bernice was preceded in death by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharon and Jerry Jahnke, grandson, Randall Neumann, and great-grandsons, Tyler Neumann, Little Randy, and Thad Leech. Additionally, her brother, Harold (Edna) Wagner, sister, Ethel (Lester) Schabo, and in-laws Kenneth (Mildred) Neumann and Lee (Dorothy) Neumann predeceased Bernice.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 5, 2016, starting at 11:00 a.m. at St. Matthew Ev. Lutheran Church, 129 S. Mason Street, Appleton, with the Rev. Thomas Mielke officiating. Richmond St., Appleton, on Monday, January 4, 2016 from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund will be established.
