    Micke, Catherine B., HollandtownAge 89, passed away on Tuesday, October 2, 2001 at Colony Oaks Care Cent er in Appleton. Catherine was born in Forest Junction on February 12, 191 2; daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Jackels) Micke. She was a lifelo ng member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown and was a memb er of the Altar Society. For many years, she was employed by White Clov er Dairy. At the age of thirty-seven, Catherine began to make her home wi th her very special sister, Marion Broeren and her family. She resided wi th the Broerens until moving to Golden Venture Apartments. Catherine enjoy ed music, dancing, and winning at sheepshead. Many will remember her for h er excellent work ethic and her neat and tidy manner. She was also an av id fan of the Green Bay Packers.
    She is survived by four sisters: Marion Broeren, Kaukauna; Gertrude Van Dy ke, Kaukauna; Sr. Mary Grace Micke, Manitowoc; Betty (Ray) Sanders, Litt le Chute; a brother, John "Jack" Micke, Kaukauna; a brother-in-law, Orr in Romenesko, Appleton; a sister-in-law, Jeanette Micke, Breckenridge, Min nesota. Catherine is also survived by four very special nieces and nephew s: Judy (Bob) Eiting, Embarras; Jerry (Shirley) Broeren, Kaukauna; Bob (Ka ren) Broeren, Hollandtown; Karen (John) Ploederl, Kaukauna. Her great-niec es and great-nephews were very important to Catherine; they treated her li ke a second grandmother. They include: Lynn Gerrits, Elmer (Peggy) Eitin g, Cheryl (Ken) Hammen, Scott Eiting, Chad (Kim) Broeren, Craig (Sunshin e) Broeren, Robyn Broeren and her special friend Jim, Beth Otto, Bobby Bro eren, and Shannon, Jeremy and Mandy Ploederl. Other survivors include nume rous other nieces and nephews, as well as a godchild Bruce Romenesko.     Obituary:
    Marion Broeren, age 94, of Kaukauna, formerly of Hollandtown passed away at St. Paul Villa early on Friday, September 7, 2007, with her loving family at her side. Marion was born in Forest Junction on July 31, 1913, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Jaeckels) Micke. On November 25, 1937, Marion married Gilbert "Gib" Broeren at St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown; Gib preceded her in death in January of 1990. As a young woman, Marion taught school in the area, and in the early 1940's joined her husband as he started Gib's Skelly Oil. The couple retired in 1970. Marion will be remembered for her love of playing cards, bingo, bowling, sewing, quilting, and reading. She was proud to have been a lifelong member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown and its Altar Society.
    Marion is survived by four children: Judy (Bob) Eiting of Kaukauna; Jerry (Shirley) Broeren of Kaukauna; Bob (Karen) Broeren of Hollandtown; and Karen (John) Ploederl of Kaukauna; twelve grandchildren: Lynn Gerrits, Elmer (Peggy) Eiting, Cheryl (Ken) Hammen, Scott (Jada) Eiting, Chad (Kim) Broeren, Craig (Sunshine) Broeren, Robyn Broeren and her special friend Mike Laib, Beth (Troy) Rosin, Robert Broeren, Shannon (Ryan) Reader, Jeremy Ploederl and his special friend Vanessa Francl, and Mandy Ploederl and her fiance Jeremy Van Schyndel; fourteen great-grandchildren: Willie Gerrits, Tracy (Mike) Wittmann, Brady Eiting, Peyton Eiting, Christopher Hammen, Courtney Hammen, Bailey Broeren, Michaela Broeren, Raya Broeren, twins Porter and Keaton Broeren, Blayne Otto, Braylon Broeren, and Braeden Reader.     Obituary:
    Gertrude M. Van Dyke, nee Micke, Kaukauna, age 96, died peacefully on Saturday January 3, 2015 at Theda Care Hospice Residence. She was born October 26, 1918 on the home farm in Forest Junction, WI, daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Jaeckels) Micke. On June 17, 1939 Gert married Clayton Van Dyke at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown, he preceded her in death after 39 years of marriage. Clayton died while being an Outagamie County Supervisor and Gert completed his term and went on to serve the county for a total of 9 years. Gert graduated from St. John High School in Little Chute and the Modern School of Beauty College in Milwaukee in 1938. She worked as a hair dresser in Slinger and Kaukauna before raising her children. Gert was heavily involved in volunteering, especially, for 35+ years for the church and also at St. Paul Home. She was the 1st President of the Ladies Society of St. Al's, was a Eucharistic Minister, on the Board of Education, was a teacher's aid, was on the Pastoral Council, was in 3 church choirs, and helped on numerous fund raisers. At St. Paul Home, she helped as hairdresser for many years. She was also a member of the Appleton Y Garden Club, Monte Alverno Women's Guild, and numerous others. Gert enjoyed sewing and craftwork, playing cards, gardening, traveling with family and friends, camping and was an avid Packer fan. Gert was very social; she enjoyed meeting and helping new people.
    She is survived by her children: Nancy (Gerald) Coenen, Glenbeulah, WI, William R.     Sister Mary Grace Micke, age 93, a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity, died Tuesday afternoon, October 20, 2015 at Holy Family Convent, Manitowoc.
    The former Grace Kathryn Micke was born on March 29, 1922 in Forest Junction, Wisconsin, daughter of the late Henry H. and Mary (Jaeckels) Micke. She entered the Convent in 1937 and professed her vows in 1940. Sister Mary Grace earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree and a Master of Arts degree from Marquette University, Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Sister Mary Grace served as a teacher at St. Philip, St. Joseph and St. Agnes, Green Bay; Sacred Heart, Oshkosh; St. John, Antigo; St. Joseph, Waukesha; Silver Lake College, Manitowoc, all of Wisconsin; Bishop Amat High School, La Puente, California; St. Nicholas, Zanesville, Ohio and principal at St. Pius X, Appleton, Wisconsin. After retiring from teaching, she performed various tasks at Roncalli High School and St. Francis Convent, Manitowoc, and as a Sponsor Presence Representative for Holy Family Medical Center at St. Clare Convent, all of Manitowoc. Since 2008, she had been residing at St. Rita Health Center. She is a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity.
    Survivors include the Franciscan Sisters of Christian Charity; one brother-in-law: Raymond Sanders; and one sister-in-law: Jeanette Micke. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by six sisters and five brothers-in-law: Agnes (John Reichel & Louis Mischler), Catherine "Kitty" Micke, Marion (Gib) Broeren, Gertrude (Clayton) Van Dyke, Mildred (Orrin) Romenesko, Elizabeth Sanders; and five brothers and three sisters-in-law: Joseph (Irmine), Leo, Sylvester, Alphonse, and John "Jack" (Audrey Kruse & Genevieve Verbeten).

    Elizabeth A. "Betty" Sanders, Little Chute, age 84, went to the arms of her heavenly Father on Friday March 22, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was born at home on March 3, 1929 in Forest Junction to the late Henry and Mary (Jachels) Micke. Betty married Raymond J. Sanders on Thanksgiving Day November 24, 1949 at St. Francis Catholic Church, Hollandtown.
    Betty found great joy in traveling to Texas and vacationing in warm weather locations, singing in the church choir, golfing, volunteering for Herbert Humphrey and Jimmy Carter's presidential campaigns. She was honored to be invited and attend Jimmy Carter's inauguration in 1976. Betty served on the Outagamie County Board for 16 years.
    Betty is survived by her husband of 63 years, Raymond; children: Charlie (Barbara), Madison; Ellen (Michael) Tennessen, Kaukauna; Mark (Cynthia), Appleton; Lynn (William) Barclay, Round Rock, TX; Anne (Gerald) Renard, Seymour; and Andrew (Karen), Little Chute; grandchildren: Betsy (special friend Jessica) Gscheidmeier, Ben and Joshua (fiancee Melissa) Sanders, Matthew (Alisha) Tennessen, Maggie (Robert) Brayton, Katie (fiance Gary), Anna, Sadie and Molllie Tennessen, Jeremy and Elizabeth Van Beek, Kevin, Brad (Jenny) and Jennifer Renard, Daniel, Jacob and Aimee Barclay, Alyson and Taylor Sanders; great grandchildren: Vivian, Isabelle, Olivia, Elizabeth, Natalie, Caleb, Owen, Carter, Hunter and Brittany and expecting 2 more; sisters: Sr. Mary Grace Micke and Gertrude Van Dyke; and sisters-in-law: Jeanette Micke, Mary Ellen Sanders and Noreen Vaubel.     John "Jack" Micke, Kaukauna, age 76, passed away February 10, 2008, at the Wisconsin Veterans Home in King, WI. John was born in Forest Junction on March 25, 1932, son of the late Henry and Mary (Jackels) Micke. He married Audry Kruse on August 24, 1955. John was a member of St. Francis Catholic Church in Hollandtown. For 24 years, John was employed with Jewel-T as a salesman. He serviced in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1953 and was a Korean Veteran. John received a purple heart while serving his country. He was a member of the Disabled Veteran's of American and the VFW Legion Post 3319 in Kaukauna. John also volunteered his time at the VA Clinic in Appleton two days a week until he moved to King.
    He is survived by his son, Jeffrey (special friend Connie) Micke, Wisconsin Rapids; a son-in-law, Tom Walker and granddaughter, Chelsey, Iron Mountain, MI, a great-grandson, Corey; three sisters: Gertrude Van Dyke, Kaukauna; Sister Mary Grace Micke, Manitowoc; Elizabeth (Ray) Sanders, Little Chute; sister-in-law, Jeanette Micke, Breckenridge, MN; close family friends, Allyson Coit and Ed and Betsy Smith and many nieces and nephews.

    Donald J. Van Dyke, age 73, of Winneconne, formerly of Neenah, died Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Oakridge Gardens Nursing Center in Menasha. He was born May 17, 1940, in Appleton to Clayton and Gertrude (Micke) Van Dyke. Don was a graduate of Kaukauna High School and Appleton Vocational School. On July 16, 1988, he married Christine Glomstead in Neenah. Don had worked for Lawrence University and James River Corp. until his retirement. He was a member of Grace Lutheran Church, Winchester. Don loved to fish, hike, hunt, garden, and camp.
    Don is survived by his wife, Christine Van Dyke, of Winneconne; his mother, Gertrude Van Dyke, of Appleton, formerly of Kaukauna; two brothers, William (JoAnn) Van Dyke, of Oshkosh; Robert Van Dyke (Gary Lange), of Rancho Mirage, California; one sister, Nancy (Gerald) Coenen, of Glenbeulah, Wisconsin; seven children and their families, Michael Van Dyke (Debbie), of Hortonville; and children, Sara (Ivan) Hernandez, Jacob (Erica) Van Dyke, and Carla Van Dyke, and their mother, Donna Van Dyke; Patrick Van Dyke, of Milwaukee; David (Mary) Van Dyke, of Appleton; Christopher Van Dyke, of Stockbridge; Daniel (Debbie) Van Dyke, of Newton, Wisconsin, and children, Devin, Dawn, and Dana Van Dyke, and their mother, Colleen Van Dyke; Matthew (Missy) Van Dyke, of Shiocton, and children, Nicholas and Lizzie Van Dyke; Colleen (David) Groenier, of Appleton; and children, Ava and Avery Groenier; one step-son, Douglas Selbach (Liz), of Neenah; one great-granddaughter, Ariana Hernandez; and many other relatives and friends.

    Mary Jo Walker, 44 of W8085 Old Carney Lk. Rd. Breitung Twp. died Monday, April 5, 2004 at her home. Mary was born June 18, 1959, in Manitowoc, WI. She married Thomas Walker on November 30, 1990. She and her husband have been resident here for the past ten years coming from Kaukauna, WI.
    Mary worked as a photo processor for Photo One in Iron Mountain for several years.
    Mary was involved in girl scouting. She raised and bred birds for years and enjoyed photography and scrapbooking.
    She is survived by her husband, Thomas; her daughter, Chelsey, at home; a stepson, Jason Walker, Kaukauna; her father, John Micke, Kaukauna; mother and father-in-law: Gene and Ethel Walker, Kaukauna; a brother, Jeff Micke, Wausau; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Sharie and Jim Halverson, Winneconne; many friends from this area and the Fox Valley area.
    She was preceded in death by her mother, Audrey.
    Visitation will be Saturday, April 10 from 11 - 12 noon at ERICKSON-ROCHON AND NASH FUNERAL HOME. Funeral services will follow at 12 noon on Saturday. Rev. David Anderson will officiate. A memorial will be established in her memory.
