    Betty Buchinger (Mrs. Edmund), born Elizabeth Jeanette Nettekoven. Resident of Erb Street and recently Carolina Manor, died July 28, 2007. Born June 15, 1925, Betty spent her early years in Sherwood, the oldest of nine children of John and Anna Nettekoven. Married to Edmund in 1945, they farmed in Apple Creek until 1961; he preceded her in death in 1994.
    Survivors include their children and spouses, Yvonne (John) McGee, Virginia; Joan (Luther) Gregorius-Adams, Missouri; Randall (Evelyn) Buchinger, Appleton; and Kathleen DuVall, Nebraska; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; Nettekoven siblings, Jerome (Bud); Alois (Shirley); Dorothy Schroeder; John (Jack); Ervin (Janice), Earl (Marilyn); Connie (Eugene) Nett; James (Donna); her extended Buchinger family, Catherine Seegers; Mary Margaret Schmidt; Mark, Jean, Barbara Horn, their spouses and special friend Jerome Kuepper; many nieces and nephews, treasured friends and neighbors.
    Visitation will be at St. Pius X Catholic Church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 31, 2007, prior to the celebration of the Mass of Christian Burial celebrated by FR. Quinn Mann. Interment will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery in Sherwood.

    Jerome M. Nettekoven, Kaukauna, age 86, died Saturday February 23, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center. He was born in Sherwood on September 27, 1926 to the late John and Ann (Micke) Nettekoven. Jerome worked at Neenah Foundry until his retirement in 1990.
    Jerome is survived by his children: Gloria (Jim) Rogers, Sharon, Jerry (Lea), John and Robert Nettekoven and Carol (Doug) Whitney (and their mother La Verna), Brenda Elliott, Brian (Kelly) and David (Leah) Nettekoven; siblings: Dorothy Schroeder, Ervin (Janice), John "Jack" and Jim (Donna) Nettekoven and Connie (Eugene) Nett. He is further survived by grandchildren, great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
    In addition to his parents, Jerome was preceded in death by his wives Dorothy Nettekoven and Wilma Vander Horst.
    Visitation will be held Wednesday February 27, 2013 at O'CONNELL FUNERAL HOME (1776 E. Main St. Little Chute) beginning at 2:00 p.m. until time of funeral at 4:00 p.m. The Rev.     Alois Nettekoven "Ollie," Sherwood, age 79, died on Saturday, March 22, 2008, at home. Ollie was born March 21, 1929 in the Town of Harrison son of the late John and Anna (Micke) Nettekoven. He was employed at Kimberly Mill for 36 years until retiring in 1994. Farming and Fords were always in his blood. With retirement he did not want to leave the farm, even if it was only watering cows!
    He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years, Shirley, a son, Dan (Lynn) Nettekoven, Sherwood; a daughter, Judy (Mel) Rabideau, Combined Locks; six grandchildren: Michael (special friend Anglene) Van Eperen, Louis (special friend Rod) Nettekoven, Tohnja (David) Roepcke, Ashley Rabideau, Stacey (special friend Josey) Nettekoven, and Jesse Nettekoven; nine great-grandchildren: Anthony, Ronni, August, Tristin, Nathaniel, Dyllan, Brandin, Travis, and Tessa; five brothers and three sisters-in-law: Jerome, Jack, Ervin (Janice), Earl (Marilyn), and James (Donna), two sisters and a brother-in-law, Dorothy Schroeder and Connie (Eugene) Nett. Ollie is further survived by two brothers-in-law: Myron (Delores) Wittman and Delmar (Judy) Wittman.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Betty Buchinger, three sisters-in-law: Dorothy Nettekoven, Shirley Nettekoven, and Ava Nettekoven, a brother-in-law, Gilbert Schroeder, and mother and father-in-law, Louis and Hazel Wittman.
    The Mass of Christian Burial will be 11 a.m. on Thursday March 27, 2008 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH, Sherwood, with Fr. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep officiating. Friends will be received on Wednesday, March 26, 2008, at the BOETTCHER FAMILY FUNERAL HOME, 2401 Fieldcrest Dr., Kaukauna, from 4 p.m. to 7, with a parish prayer service at 7 p.m. concluding the evening, and again directly at church on Thursday from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will take place in the Parish Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund is being established in his name.
    A special thank you to the VNA and hospice, especially Chris for being there for the family on his last day on earth before passing into heaven.

    Earl Nettekoven, age 72, passed away at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Appleton on Thursday, October 6, 2011. His family and friends were at his side. He was born in Kaukauna on September 16, 1939, son of the late John and Anna (Micke) Nettekoven. Earl attended school at Sacred Heart in Sherwood, and grew up on the family farm in Woodville. He married Geneva Wenzel, who preceded him in death in 1967. In 1973, Earl married Marilyn. For many years, he operated the family dairy farm, which is now operated by his son. He also worked for many years at the James River Canal Plant until his retirement. He was a former member of the Sherwood Lions Club, and loved spending time socializing around town with family members and friends. He loved being the guy everyone always wanted to talk with! His family parties were wonderful, and his grandchildren loved listening to his banjo and accordion playing.
    Earl is survived by his wife: Marilyn Nettekoven of Sherwood; four children: Steve Nettekoven of Sherwood; Vince (Donna) Nettekoven of Kaukauna; Anna (Brian) Mauel of Sherwood; and Keith (Nicole) Nettekoven of Sherwood; a special nephew: Todd (Nancy) Wenzel and their children Dylan and Brady; eleven grandchildren: Jeremy (Beth) Nettekoven, Ashley Nettekoven and her special friend Michael Eichmeier, Jason Mauel, Aaron Mauel, Geneva Mauel and her fiancé Casey Haen, Brooklyn Nettekoven, Kasey Nettekoven, Halle Nettekoven, Cooper Nettekoven, Alexa Nettekoven, and Grady Nettekoven; four great-grandchildren: Carter and Caylee Nettekoven, Blake Marx, and Olivia Mauel; six brothers and sisters: Jerome Nettekoven of Kaukauna, Dorothy Schroeder of Appleton, Jack Nettekoven and his special friend Marianne Ver Bockel of Neenah, Ervin (Janice) Nettekoven of Winneconne, Connie (Eugene) Nett of Sherwood, and James (Donna) Nettekoven of Appleton; two sisters-in-law: Shirley Nettekoven of Sherwood and Kathleen (Don) Baertschy of Eagle River; three brothers-in-law: Dean (Gloria) Onan of Amherst Junction, Paul (Patricia) Onan of Amherst Junction, and Dale (Barbara) Onan of Amherst.     The funeral liturgy for Earl will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, October 10, 2011 at SACRED HEART CATHOLIC CHURCH in Sherwood, with Fr. Michael Betley and Rev. Bill Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in the parish cemetery. Friends may call at the church on Monday morning from 9:00 AM until the time of the service at 11:00 AM

    Nettekoven, Brian J., Menasha, Age 39, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, June 19, 2010. He was born in Neenah on November 24, 1970, son of Earl and Marilyn (Onan) Nettekoven. He graduated from Kaukauna High School and from Fox Valley Tech. Brian worked for Albany International for 13 years. He had a very entrepreneurial spirit and always had creative ideas which led to Brian owning and operating The Outpost Pub and Provision He enjoyed spending time with his many friends, riding his V-Rod Harley, and was very fond of going to Packer Games. His three children: Cooper, Lexi and Grady were the world to him. Cooper will have fond memories of attending sporting events with Dad. Daddy was Lexi's best friend. Grady was Daddy's little shadow.
    Brian is survived by his children: Cooper, Alexa and Grady Nettekoven of Sherwood; parents, Earl and Marilyn Nettekoven of Sherwood; sibblings: Steve Nettekoven of Sherwood, Vincent (Donna) Nettekoven of Kaukauna and their children Jeremy (Beth) and Ashley, Anna (Brian) Mauel of Sherwood and their children Jason, Aaron and Geneva; Keith (Nicole) Nettekoven of Sherwood and their children Brooklyn, Kasey and Halle, Todd (Nancy) Wenzel of Sherwood and their children Dylan and Brady; and special friend, Cherie Mader of Kaukauna. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Howard and Ruth Onan and John and Anna Nettekoven.
    The funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 24, 2010, at CHRIST THE KING LUTHERAN CHURCH, Sherwood, with Rev. Bill Schroeder officiating. Friends will be received at CHRIST THE KING on Wednesday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. and again on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Sherwood.
    The family would like to extend a special thank you to Rev. Bill Schroeder for being a good influence on Brian.
    In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund in Brian's name is being established.
