  Verlan C. Sawall, Age 87, went to join his wifey while surrounded by his loving family on October 3, 2012. Verlan was born on August 21, 1925, son of the late Ervin and Edna (Knapp) Sawall. On January 15, 1949, he was united in marriage to Jeri Olesen in Clintonville. She preceded him in death in 2002. Verlan was an avid golfer and charter member of Grandview Golf Course, Hortonville. He worked at Curwood in New London for 27 years, retiring in 1990. Verlan is survived by his daughters, Barbara (Rick) Gassen; Nancy (Ben) Nieto; Veryl Ann (Randy) Diem; Terri (Jim Schinke) Sawall; all of New London and Cari (Doug) Guerin, Menasha; son Jim (Mary) Sawall, New London; a brother Donald Sawall, Clintonville. He is further survived by Twenty-One grandchildren and Eighteen great grandchildren, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, a brother Milton, two sisters, Mona Dieck and Jeannie Schultz and a grandson Joshua Ryan Nieto. Funeral services for Verlan will be held on Monday, October 8, 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Emanuel Lutheran Church, New London with Rev. Brian Hennig officiating. Burial will be in the Floral Hill Cemetery, New London. Visitation will be held on Sunday, October 7, 2012 from 2-6 p.m. at the Cline & Hanson Funeral Home, New London and also at the church on Monday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service.
