  Muench, Verna F. (Hackstock) Verna Muench, 88, Menasha, formerly of Neenah, died Sunday, February 8, 2009, at Garden's of Fountain Way Assisted Living. She was born October 4, 1920, in Menasha, daughter of Frank E. and Mary (Florian) Hackstock. Verna graduated from St. Mary's High School. She was employed at Whiting Paper Company until her marriage to Albert J. Muench who preceded her in death June 29, 1991. Mrs. Muench was a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, Neenah. She was a volunteer at St. Joseph's Food Pantry. Verna loved her grandchildren, and enjoyed visits from them. Verna is survived by her children: Joe (Sheila) Muench, El Paso, TX; Tim (Trish Kirk) Muench, St. Germaine; Marne (Joe) Meyer, Green Bay; good friend and former daughter-in-law, Linda Muench, Appleton; seven grandchildren: Joseph (Courtney) Muench; Matthew Muench and special girlfriend Jennifer; Marisa (Joey) May; Courtney (Adam) Brady; Ryan Muench and special girlfriend Ryan; Kristine Muench; David (Jessica) Muench; three great grandchildren: Mackenzie and Jacob Muench; Elizabeth Muench; her sister who was also her best friend, Rose Hackstock, Menasha; sister-in-law, Shirley Hackstock, Menasha; nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; sisters: Gertrude (Fuzzy) Janssen; Florence (Louie) Albers; brother, Frank A. "Bob" Hackstock; nephew, Terry Albers. Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, February 12, 2009, at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 620 Division St., Neenah, with Rev. Michael Ingold officiating. Interment will be in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 10 a.m. Thursday until the time of the Mass. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established for St. Joseph's Food Pantry. Verna's family wishes to thank all the staff at Garden's of Fountain Way for loving their mom and caring for her as her own family would.
