Zita Johanna Rollmann, of Chilton, took the Lord's hand on her 92nd birthday, April 5, 2010. Zita was born on April 5, 1918, in Marytown, WI, the daughter of the late Joseph & Angeline (Koeppel) Horsch. Zita married Henry Rollmann on May 29, 1952, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Marytown. Henry preceded her in death on March 26, 1976. Prior to marriage, Zita worked as a waitress at Leon's Restaurant (the Beacon) in New Holstein; later she helped her husband operate the family farm in Chilton and raise her six children. During those years, she also worked at the Chilton Eagle's Club. In her free time, Zita enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing, crocheting and babysitting for her grandchildren. Zita enjoyed traveling as well and was proud to have visited all 50 states. Zita was a member of the former St. Mary's Parish Christian Mothers, Daughters of Isabella, the Calumet Medical Auxiliary, Eagles Auxiliary, Senior Citizens of Chilton and many card clubs. Zita also volunteered for the American Red Cross blood drives. Zita is survived by her five children: Ed (Deb) Rollmann, Chilton; Denis (Denise) Rollmann, Winona, MN; Karen (Leon) Geiser, Alice (Ted) Schenkus, John (Liz) Rollmann, all of Chilton; 15 grandchildren: Stephanie (Ross) Mueller, Lisa (Travis) Pingel, Kate, Jackie, and Janelle Rollmann; Danielle Rollmann and fiance Corey, Tess Rollmann, Cindy, Derrick, Gina and Marissa Geiser, Chelsea and John Schenkus, and Matt and Jake Rollmann; four great-grandchildren: Gabe and Quinn Mueller, Max and Tucker Pingel; two sisters-in-law: Leona Rollmann and Marion Muellenbach; and a brother-in-law: Melvin Rollman. Zita is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband: Henry; a son: Wayne; two brothers: Ralph (Valeria) Horsch, Laverne Horsch; two sisters: Jeanette (McCready) Abler, Sister Ottilia Horsch; two brothers-in-law: Sylvester Rollmann, Alfred Muellenbach; and two sisters-in-law: Ellen Rollman, Arlene (Robert) Diedrich. Funeral service will be at 6 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010, at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church (54 E. Main St.) in Chilton, with the Rev. Bob Kollath officiating. Burial will be in the St. Mary Catholic Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 2 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. on Friday, April 9, 2010. The family would like to thank the staff at Century Ridge, where Zita resided for over five years, for their wonderful care. They would also like to thank the Chilton Care Center staff for their love and compassion, and also Dr. Tipler and his staff for the care that was given to Zita.
